As poor a fight as it was, I still honestly believe that Haye gave Wlad his biggest challenge (as small as it was) since anyone he's fought since Tony Thompson in July of 2008. Take a look at Wlad's previous four fights: Samuel Peter, Eddie Chambers, Ruslan Chagaev and Hasim Rahman. Who did better than Haye? I can't honestly look at any of those fights (I've seen them all, some a few times) and say anyone else did any better against Wladimir. He is simply too tall, too rangy and has too good a skillset for any of the current heavyweight fighters to pose a legitimate threat to him. In all honesty, I would still favor Haye over any current heavyweight not named Klitschko (which further affirms how good I believe Wladimir is, considering what little threat Haye posed in the fight). This fight didn't make me lose any respect for David Haye (I'm used to boundaries being crossed during pre-fight buildups after watching so many of Mayweather's fights) as a fighter, but rather it added to the respect I already had for Klitschko. He is truly THE dominant heavyweight of his era and I don't see anyone on the horizon that poses a legitimate threat to him at this point. Congrats to Wladimir on becoming the closest thing we've had to an undisputed heavyweight champ since Lennox Lewis, and doing it in dominant fashion. My point is - rather than spending all of this time tearing down Haye, who didn't do any worse than the previous four Wlad opponents, maybe people should simply appreciate Wladimir's abilities as a heavyweight. Haye didn't do any worse than the others - he just didn't do any better, either.
Honestly Hayes toe was in serious pain, everyone knows you throw punches of the back foot. And he did stop sparring 3 weeks early but didnt mention why. Everyone thought it was weird.
haye ran..he dodged..he ducked..he dived..he was the lighter man so was faster..he didnt throw..went into survival mode after tasting abit of power..people comment on how he did better than peters.chambers and chagaev ect ect because he didnt stand there.difference was they all tryed to win the only difference with them and haye was they wer fast enough or had to much pride to run and survive so tryed to just used defence which is stupid..haye cannot take any credit from this fight what soever..his toe excuse is just that an excuse..your baby toe has nothing to do with balance or pushing off to land his super hayemaker...how gulabal are some people??
and before ruiz fight he stopped sparring 4 weeks before, Valuev fight he broke his hand,2009 Wlad fight he injured his back, this fight his toe, so he's never healthy .Is he that fragile or brits are so easy to trick?
