My point in all the Chagaev gets beat by such and such threads is...

    He was decent in the current division and that is all. What exactly had he done to be #3 as you say? Beat Valuev (**** old donald did that), SD W Ruiz? Add in that he was layed off for a long time and beat one stiff. No way he should be #3 based on these factors. But the division is weak so he was in the mix of 5-15 somewhere.

    And so it begins. The Chagaev was never that good to begin with argument. Did it ever occur to you that Wladimir Klitschko just takes good fighters and makes them look amateurish? I'm willing to meet you halfway on your point about the fighters from the 80's as there were some slicksters like Tucker and Tubbs along with capable guys like Thomas and Page. The thing is that as good as these guys were at times they were also very mediocre on other occasions. Basically, what I'm trying to say is let's not bring in the old "if so and so had fought in the 80's" routine cuz as we all know, that was no golden age of heavyweights. No need to even mention Larry Holmes. You think we don't know that he would take Chagaev to school or just about any heavyweight from today for that matter?
