    1. If there is a catchweight a championship should not be on the line. I've critsized Pacquiao for this so I got to be as fair as I can with my opinions.
    2. The winner should be the Pound for Pound #1. Martinez and Williams are The Rings 5. (Williams) and 6. (Martinez) Pound for pound. A good arguement can be made that they are the best two boxers in the world. Who are not Mayweather or Pacquiao. As long as Mayweather is on vacation and Pacquiao fights the easy fights he has been. Neather realy deserves to be the #1 above the winner of Martinez/Williams.
    3. I'm picking Williams to win. I think he's a slightly better boxer and he has the size advantage. Also I think Martinez was a replacement for Pavlik, so I don't think he's going to take Williams by suprise. Another factor is the stories about Martinez having trubble making the weight.

i agree about the catchweights and about mayweather and pac not deserving the pound for pound #1 ranking but i think it should almost be vacant since the 2 best fighters are busy vacationing or fighting easy fights and there's no other fighters skilled enough in the top 10 to taker #1 honors .

I guess a slap on the hand for the Williams-Martinez title fight at catchweight makes it equal treatment after all the hundreds of posts bashing Pacquiao for the same thing. Equal justice for all.

I agree with everything in your post except for the portion in bold. Keep in mind that Martinez was coming in the first match with a short training camp I believe, which did not give him ample time to prepare. However, as you stated, this fact also didn't give Williams enough time to study Martinez. Ultimately, I'm picking Sergio. He's coming off of a beautiful win against Pavlik, which gives him momentum. To boot, it was really his stamina that gave out on him in the first match, which is attributable to the short training camp!

Martinez had very little time to train for the first fight, but he won anyway, however, Goosen's judges gave the fight to Williams, just like they did for the Cintron fight. Rumors as that Martinez has zero chance to win the fight, orders from Goosen again?

there is already a thread about this, and most agree a rematch between two guys for the title at a c/w is b/s, but far far less of a b/s move than fighting at a c/w that is closer to the WW limit than the JrMW limit for a vacant title between a guy who has one fight in 5 years at 154 and one guy has has zero fights there

    apples and oranges really

i've got sergio winning, but yes, props to these two for making it happen, and they should move up the ladder in terms of P4P since they are fighting other P4Pers

Nice try. But I was really thinking more of the bashing Pac got for getting Cotto to come in at 145, 1 pound less than his previous fight with Clottey.

nice try, but he just did it again.....so the cotto one was ok, but the margo one wasn't, in your opinion..

and it's also how he did it with cotto.....backhandedly, and cotto was painted into a corner, as far as the title is concerned

Paul Williams' managers have the hand in all of this and is dealing it the same way that Pac's handlers did. Stick to the subject.... why ZERO threads about catchweights regarding Williams-Martinez and maybe hundreds regarding Pacquiao-Cotto? Remember, this question not really directed at you specifically but to all of ESB posters who bashed Pacquiao but have failed to make 1 thread bashing Williams. Apples and oranges? They are different color fruits.

there aren't zero threads on it, in fact, if you search back to when the c/w was first mentioned, you will find there are threads on it....too bad they didn't have "pac" or "pacquaio" or "hate floyd" or "gay" in the title...maybe you would have seen them

also, this is a rematch...rematch...not the great p4p pinoy wrecker coming up to the ww div to clean house (with an *)

Don't get me wrong here. I'm not hating on Paul. He's my 2nd favorite boxer. I'd like to see him win again and if that happens I will write Top Rank to get Pac to fight him. I've seen threads that you mentioned when they first came out. The fact that I'd have to go back 50 pages to find them only proves my point.
