Hey guys, Now is an interesting time in boxing with many big matches on the horizon. I just thought I'd give my thoughts on each division, heavyweight to lightweight (I do not really follow divisions lower than light, other than lopez and gamboa) and just break the divisions down, basically outlining what fights should happen, my thoughts on what fights are happening, and my overall consensus on the division as a whole. Let me know what you think of my breakdown, hopefully it'll be an interesting read. So here we go... Heavyweight Division What's to say here, its obvious... Haye needs to step up and unify with one of the Klitschko's, preferably Wlad. He has been silent every since his win over Ruiz. Wlad has a defence coming up in september against Samuel Peter, this fight is interesting but pretty irrelivent. Vitali on the other hand is rumoured for a defence against Briggs in November... yawn! Hopefully Adamek will continue to rise and beat Grant, which will hopefully lead to another top contender for the 4 belts Cruiserweight Division Not much is going on in this division at the moment, Cunningham is generally considered top dog, but I personally think he needs to fight Huck again, whom I believe is no. 2. Huck has an upcoming defence against Godfrey... hopefully after that something will happen. As for Jo This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
there must be some thoughts on my analysis of boxing today. any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
you lost me at the first sentence. Which big matchups are on the horizon? Please, i'm trying to find one. All i'm seeing is a bunch of postponements, ducks, etc...
the super 6 isnt the first big thing in decades at 168 calzaghe unified that division by beating lacy and kessler kessler also unified with beyer kessler calzaghe was considered a european leonard hearns
No BJ Flores mention? Definately a top fighter in the division. Although i saw he hasnt fought since last August. Anyone know why?
I understand it is a long read, I tried to cover everything but it was off the top of my head as I was writing. I intended it to be a good read so hope you enjoyed my analysis. This was written the night before Cloud-Johnson so the Light Heavyweight Division will look a little different now those 2 big matches have happened.
