He sucks, he even said so himself. Obviously he does though, he hasn't joined a gym yet. I sucked too. and probably still suck now lol Also, The philly shell isn't the sort of thing that most people practive or even want to practice when they actually start boxing because it takes very good reflexes and concentration but also a lot of hard work to master it. So it really is irrelevant how good anyone else is at the philly shell.
^Yea i know that hes not any good, but I give him props for posting it up. Even people who know how to do it would be reluctant to post a video of themselves, myself included lol.
^Just screwing around, really the only thing I can do while my knee is injured As I start training, I'll probably update this thread so I can post my progress Watch as I become a glorious-winged champion (hopefully).
Hopefully it can work out for me, because if I'm good at anything, it's my reflexes. Was always the fastest off the ball in football on DEFENSE (meaning, I had better reflexes than the guys who knew the count), and I think I have pretty good reflexes and vision in boxing as well.
No, obviously I've never boxed before, but I'm hoping if I have good reflexes in football, which is also a dangerous contact sport, I'll also have pretty good reflexes in boxing. Key word: hoping.
Go to a gym, get hit, make alterations. Use a high guard or else your coach and everyone else in the gym will think "What a twat" Once you've mastered the basics in a few years, got some wins under your belt, then expiriment with complex things, such as philly shell, in the gym if you so wish. It's a very poor defence for amatuer boxing though.
You'll never be good at boxing because you don't listen to people. When your in the gym, and coach is screaming blue murder at you, he's doing it because he is right and you are wrong. That relationship is important. Coach has had 1000 young kids come in all telling him they are different, they are more naturally gifted etc. The only guys coach cares about are the guys who say "I'm like everyone else, so I need to train myself harder than them" If you've had knee surgery, go swim. Swimming is great for losing weight and being gentle on your muscles. Then once you are in some kind of shape, go to a gym, learn that even though you are in the best shape of your life, there are guys their in much better condition. Get in better condition, so you think you can box 15 rounds. Then spar a round and gas after a minute and a half, like every new guy does. Enjoy being the new guy. Be the humble new guy who listens and learns though, not the ******* new guy who turns up with fancy new gear telling the coach how he wants to box.
