    Hmm..
Just watched this again- with a very close eye/carefulness-
I scored this 115-109- sounds weird, but in this fight, I chose the option of scoring rounds EVEN (9-9) in which some rounds are very ugly, neither fighter makes a distinction- this I feel is very effective method with dealing with a fight of this nature (like Hops/Taylor for example) ..and I wish other media people/experts, like HAROLD LEDERMAN would score even rounds..

I scored 4 (four) even rounds (rounds 2,6,9,10)-

    and Winky fought very well/tough-
But overall, I feel the judges got it right-right winner- due to my opinion that:

*Bernard provided some unique angles that made Winky miss pretty badly at times- these were very akward SUBTLE angles of all sorts- angles only a MASTER like Hopkins applies..

*It seemed Bernard had a bit more in his arsenal-resevoir..at least in the rounds he won on my card (rounds 1,3,5,7,8,11,12)- more variety punches and HARDER more effective punches- I don't think anyone can argue that he landed the HARDER punches.

*Winky's Jab??? Winky's jab was not able to control Hopkins, although he landed the jab at a good rate, "punch-stat" wise..- but It couldn't keep B-Hop off, or force him off his game plan at all..

*Hopkins PUSHED the fight, controlled the fight- making Winky fight a Hopkins style fight- that's the imprint that Bernard puts on his fights..
Hopkins fought HIS fight more than Winky fought his fight..

so, overall I feel Bernard did what he wanted to do SLIGHTLY better than what Winky wanted to do... - not pretty at times, but in my opinion, a clear hopkins victory..

opinions and comments are greatly welcomed..!

10-10 would be an even round not 9-9.

Yeah- but I don't give 10 points for an even round personally- because I don't feel either fighter deserved 10 points (the maximum) in that particular round
I think 9-9 is much more fair for EVEN rounds, but that's subject to interpretation.
Either way, the final score comes out the same margin..
I just personally score them 9-9..

Yea but, theres no point to do 9-9.

It boxing its a 10 point.

So an even round is 10-10. Doing 9-9 does nothing.

My reasoning for doing this also implies that the 10-point must system in boxing implies the winner get 10 points.
but those ugly rounds in Hops/Taylor, Hops/Wright, etc.. - there was NO winner in my mind, so I just score them 9-9- kind of a personal scoring system of mine where the clear winner of the round gets 10 points on my system, but if it's a lousy crappy dreadful EVEN round, I "award" both fights 9 points- 9-9- because I don't feel both fighters should be awarded the maximum 10 points..
    I see your point, though..
either system, BHOP still wins on my scorecard..

9-9 works just as good. There were a few rounds that could have been even.

I agree with the writer that says the score cards should have been way closer and I was even rooting for Bernard. How many times is this kind of corruption going to be allowed under Oscar's regime? Remember Oscar/Sturm, Barerra/Juarez (changing of scorecards after fight),Barrera/Marquez, Forbes/Hopkins, and now Winky/Bernard. There are others but these represent grosely lopsided score cards that no one can deny.

    10-10 isn't different for 9-9 ... it wouldn't affect your final decision.

I scored it 116-111. Some of the rounds were close, however Hopkins did more than enough to take a few of 'em with his savvy and more effective offensive gameplan.

Yes, somebody must have 10 points, so a 9-9 isnt possible. Just switch it to 10-10, it wont change the margin or score anyway so no big deal.

neither did much to exact 117 - 111 win thats horrible scoring infact the only way Hopkins gets that score is if you count all those BS flurries which hit Wright's gloves and the holding and punching he did on the inside....now im not saying B-Hop should have loss but a SD or Draw is more what i thought.

I had 6 for Hop, 5 for Winky and 1 even. 115-114 i thought Hopkins won the fight alot more clearly the first i watched without scoring but it was close. 117-111 was ridiculous, no way did Winky only win 3 rounds.
