Actually that is not technically true (alth5ough your argument is right). A fighter can win a round but have a point deducted for a foul and the score would be 9-9...

Personally I would like a 10 point system, where a judge distributes 10 points between the two fighters eg: if the round was even 5-5; a fighter wins a round 6-4; a fighter dominates 7-3 or 8-2, 9-1 or indeed 10-0. A fighter would recieve 3 bonus points for a knockdown, and the referee would punish fouls be rewarding the victim either 1, 2 or 3 points depending on the circumstance.

    As for Hopkins/Wright, I had it 115/113.

IMO a judge is there to judge and unless two fighters mirror each other for three minutes (which must be nearly impossible) as a judge it is your responsibilty to score the round to one fighter or the other. If it is even, then bias towards the champ must be used.
