Now this is a year old and after 5 months of training. What do you guys think of the performance, ofcourse i was not in the best shape else i would have been 2 divisions below so please excuse the conditioning. :yep What shud i work on more yall? PS: im red [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20qxW21Y_EU&feature=related[/ame]
im only on 0:41 secs, (loading slow, im downloading something). but i noticed when you throw your left jab, you tend to put your right guard down.
you lean into the jab too much and after you throw it you take about a second to get back into position and admire you're work.you need to follow up or keep moving apart from that you're pretty good, well done on the win.
Thanks guys, i do tend to drop that right and i think leaning has to do with it as my body is trying to maintain balance, will work it on shadowboxing. And you're right i should stop taking that moment to look for my punch's effect, gives him time to recuperate.
GO TO THE BODY!!!! Set traps...If you would have jabed to the body...fainted and threw an overhand right that guy would have been on his ass. PS. Nobody wants to hear how out of shape you are...the ring is not the place to start questioning yourself, so never step in there any less than 110%...You have some tools put some dedication and discipline behind it.
I agree the jab looks not good, people throw it to either keep the other guy at the distance or to set up the power shot ... in your case it often looks like you try to use jab as a power shot from a far distance which ain't going to work and you are then getting a bit off balance with right hand kept very low .... so someone smart and fast can simply knock you out at that time.
it's because he puts weight on his jab, and doesn't snap it back. you still look good for a 2nd fight. do you have more recent match?
Absolutely, If i keep lunging in, someone will definitely put me on my seat and i will do all that is possible to correct this, thanks man! Also, I would give it 110% if i wasnt in school. Now that im finished school and have a job that will support me I will definitely put in 110%. Here is the 10th bout i had. Im even more out of shape here therefore my fat self is fighting at light heavy instead of lightweight. I won the first fight in this tourney (i dont have the video here) but this guy imposed his size and weight on me. I was never hurt but the lack of discipline cost me this defeat. PS: im the short one in red. ENJOy! currently watching aman 1st rd.. from what i saw.. you have your guard down, most of the time. you don't punch in the body, while the blue guy has his guard way up.
I was actually talking to the TS but you point out some obvious flaws...My point is that most "amature" boxers forget all about the body and head hunt throughout the 3 unexhausting rounds.
Sorry bro, i didnt quote you but look at my response it was directed at you as well. Now coming to the body punching part, I like digging to the body more in sparring but apparently judges have no value for bodyshots. I have seen that many times watching a fight while looking at the computer scoreboard, it definitely takes a vital component of fighting out of the equation. its sad
Forget about the judges...put your work in early, Im telling you...most of the guys you face will head hunt through out...put your work in, go to the body and embarrass them on round 3, but remember that the moment you release your jab you need to hold your opposite hand on guard and pull the jab straight back to position. Its a habit, practice it during your heavy bag and shadow work.
