first of all it was a **** poor fight Bellew took the fight because it was a big money fight with little risk, if he lost he could just say (im not a real heavyweight) and go back down to cruiserweight for haye it was a calculated risk, he saw this as a good money fight and a very winnable fight that would set up he's mega cash out against joshua we learned haye is a useless old shitebag who needs to retire, and that bellew has no business at heavyweight at all the fight itself was poor with bellew unable to close the show and happy to cruiser to a boring as **** points win like he did against ovil mckenzie. I thought they hated eachother? load of fake nonsense, and all the hugging after was gay as hell haye needs to retire, bellew needs to go to cruiserweight and fight usyk
It's amazing how they managed to sell that bull**** to casual boxing fans. The pre-fight "drama" and the "dramatic" **** poor fight itself. Eddie Hearn knows how to create controversy and sell the fights, there's much more talk about this fight today than there is about Thurman vs Garcia which was a much more relevant fight for boxing at a much higher level.
IDK i believe Haye may have over trained, hes clearly better skilled and he looked slow and off in the first round.Maybe cut 5/10 pounds? I can only unrank him where i had him. Would have to see him fight again,im sure he would win a rematch but?
It was like watching an old hurt tiger that could barely stand having to try and defend itself against a pumped up Hyena.
He looked just as slow versus these two car cleaners. Watch how he swings wildly and mistimes his punches, yet gets away with it, simply because he is up against stationary targets. This content is protected This content is protected
Well i was telling others motivation is a KEY thing when ffighting....i base on years of observations.Haye has mean skill sets.I need more to actually see of NOW. Bellew was as stationary as anyone, yet Haye got countered and missed punches he normally wouldnt.
You need to re-assess the meaning of what constitutes being a stationary target if you believe Bellew was standing in front of haye all night. Bellew was on the back foot the first 5-6 rounds moving his head and countering, because that was the gameplan - to wait until Haye lost spark Those two cans stood in front of haye or backed themselves up against the ropes to become sitting ducks and for haye to select his punches at will.
Well my standards are different then,Bellew did little foot work other than the examples you displayed.Haye would have cleaned his clock in many occasions but why bother posting ALL his fights, anyone watching can see Bellew could have been knocked out multiple times. He stood his ground and was very quick handed with simple BASIC leaning back tactics when Haye moved in with the over hand right.I also believe the injury effected his south paw stance which is his strength,he couldnt put weight on the right leg.
im probably the only person who followed him.what he was doing prior to the fight in the ring! i actually mentioned it and said he should stop doing public work outs.
Well you are right. He didn't have magnificent footwork, but he did not stand in front of haye and become an easy target like his previous opponents. Even chisora stood in front of haye and kept approaching forward with little care for head movement and evading shots by stepping back. Bellew done a similar thing to Wlad in making Haye miss with his looping hayemakers by simply stepping back and keeping the right distance. I just watched the 6th round again and noticed both went toe to toe and haye lost the exchange. Only after that exchange did his leg give way. So I don't know how these people are all saying bellew was losing until the injury. Enlighten me on your take please.
i'll watch it again later! i saw numerous times Haye should and could have landed thats all i need to see...it doesnt actually matter anything else. The few times Haye landed he didnt persue and whatever happened im not sure, his wind left ....iit seems to my eye of over training! ive been there winning fights and then...BOOM...lol i beleive he was in cruiser mode until the 4th round and he then couldnt k.o Bellew with one punch and mentally collapsed as well.
You need to watch round 6 again. Haye went to finish off Bellew after he knocked him down though it was ruled a slip. There was a full exchange where haye was throwing the kitchen sink yet bellew held his own and came out on top of the exchange and then haye was visibly gassed and on the back foot. Incredible really considering it was before the leg injury flared up. If the rematch were to happen it should be at cruiserweight considering haye had everything on his terms now it should all be in bellew's favour and I'm not so sure haye would be the one winning.
