This is a fight that we were all expecting given the opponents available and the date that the fight was to be held. I think this is a pretty disappointing fight to be honest as Brook and his team have been mentioning some pretty big names and saying they want the big names, yet not delivering on that talk. Don't get me wrong Chaves is a good world level fighter but it is a very bad move in terms of Brooks marketability as it really doesn't make his resume stronger, just a bit deeper and therefore doesn't take notice of anyone else worldwide should he beat him. Are you guys surprised they made this fight?

As for a prediction I am going to say Brook will win most likely on points, but I certainly wouldn't rule out a late stoppage either, what do you think of the fight? Who wins?

Pretty much agree to be honest. Chaves is decent but he's never won at the top level. It isn't a terrible fight but not a great one either

When u put the Chaves fight against Dan and Frankie its a decent fight. If a big fight does not get made by April 2016 Brook should go stateside

With the exception of Shaun Porter I would says its Brooks biggest test. For me there was so much talk about a mega fight at Bramall Lane etc bla bla bla that it is a bit disappointing.

I think Chavez is a better boxer and a harder puncher than Porter though Porter obviously has superior physical strength to Chavez.

Brook will probably take a few headbutts and elbows along with one or two decent punches so it will be a good test from a fellow top-ten WW.

Bradley in the Spring followed by Thurman, Pacqiuao or even Mayweather in the summer would be a good run of fights for Brook.

It is what it is really, definitely be a bit of rough housin' in the fight and I agree Chaves the better boxer to porter but still, its not really anything to write home about this fight ain't. Hopefully theres some big fights coming soon. but not banking on it

Brook should join up with al haymon, just like degale and selby have, brook needs to fight in America against the big names, Eddie is no good at getting those fights sorted

true. after fighting bums like jo jo dan and frankie gavin you need to step up....... everyone thought he would once he got passed porter but looks like it was just a one time thing.... meanwhile u r calling out thurman (who is willing and ready) yet you chose chavez and continue to fight fighters who are not the cream of the top

pretty bad as a champion if you ask me, eddie hearn is just protecting him.

Chaves is decent but limited. An upgrade for sure for a Brook opponent-but still not a defining win.Eddie best step up his game.

World champion with title defences yet only has one legit win on resume.

Joke of a fight but hey, if casuals accept it Eddie may as wel milk it for as long as he can...

I'm not happy with it but who else is there?

Already beat Porter and Thurman Vs Porter is done.
Obviously Brook isn't getting Mayweather or Pacquiao, just like Khan isn't.
Bradley would have been nice, talks took place and I can only assume it was the money Bradley wanted and probably deserved and Hearn wasn't willing to pay.

Oh and Khan has hamster cobblers, has no opponent himself but wants none of Brook and is looking at light welterweights.

So apart from Bradley there was nobody else right at this moment in time so as much as I want to see Brook in big fights it is what it is.

Hearn is going to have to deliver big fights for Brook very soon (after this) because I think many of us are losing patience and if that means paying somebody like Bradley large then so be it.

Chaves is 8th in the WBC rankings.

Of the other top 8 he is one, pacquiao wont fight him, Khan is terrified of him, he's already beaten Porter.

That leaves Thurman, Maidana and Bradley.

Maidana is a limited fighter who has lost to Kotelnik and Amir Khan! What's his best result? MD against Morales? A 'noble' defeat to Mayweather? Ortiz? Surely people arent saying he'd be a braver choice?

Thurman - Just another American hype job with an unimpressive resume.

Bradley - Just drew with Chaves.

People are just never satisfied! Brook will dismantle him, as he would to any Welter Weight on the planet bar Mayweather.

    Still massively underrated.
