Keep in mind that what I know about the fight is what I've read on the round by round thread hear and from another website about enterment and sports.

I give Cotto full cridet for this win. I'm not sure how he will do in the future, but this was an exlent win over a very good and underrated oppoent.

I have not acatuly seen the fight. I'm sure it will be up on U-Tube soon enough. As a Yuri Foreman fan it is going to be tough to watch. I am also under the impression that as a Yuri Foreman fan I have lot to be proud of him for. Boxers in championship fights have quit for less.
My impressions: First and foremost if you take quality of oppoent and ring preformance this is the best victory of Cotto's career. Yes even more so than Shane Mosley.

Did the injury make a differance? It sounded like Miguel Cotto was well a head ti the fight and marking up Foreman's face. It also sounded that Foreman was starting to conect and although not doing as much danmage his shots were starting to show on Cotto's face as well. If there was no injury and it went to the cards I think Cotto who seemed to have enough rounds in the bank would have won. I think he may have stopped Foreman as well. This dose not mean Cotto was going to win for sure. Cotto tends to swell up when hit. Therefore I could see Foreman getting a late stoppage down on points.

Should there be a rematch? I think so. First of all you could argue that when a championship changes hands the former champion should get a shot to win the championship back. Regaurdles of result. Secondly inspite of the fact that Cotto apeared to be winning. I'm not sure that the result was a foregon conclusion. Thirdly I'm not sure what else is out there for either of them. Cotto with this win deservs a big fight. However I have the felling that Paul Williams, Sergio Martinez and Kermit Cintron are going to be busy with eachother. I think Mayweather and Pacquiao are going to come to terms soon. Perhaps Alferdo Angulo, Sergiy Dzinziruk or Cory Spinks? He could go back to 147 and fight Andre Breto. My point is that Cotto has earned a big fight. Hopefuly He won't get stuck with the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr/John Duddy winner. He desveres better.
As for Foreman see my comit about the champion geting a rematch after losing. If that dose not happen there are still some good boxers at 154. Vanes Martirosyan who won his fight on the undercard, Cornelius Bundrage with whom he fought in the past to a no contest, Sechew Powell, Deandre Latimore. or even Erislandy Lara come to mind. Also Chavez Jr. and Duddy.

Like I said I will have to watch. It will not be easy for me.
Reguardles My hat is off to Miguel Cotto for becoming a champion at 154 and beating a very good boxer, and to Yuri Foreman for showing the hart of a lion. Hopefuly Cotto will get a fight he deservs and Foreman will be able to recover from this loss.

Cotto was gonna win any way probably a lop sided 12 rounder Foreman showed that he had the good s a jab a cross a left hook Cotto couldnt corner him prior to the injury and wafter showed no kllier instinct to get rid of him also Foreman showed no bravery or bravado until the injury

i was mad at the stop dull fight with an inconclusive ant climatic non dramtic end

Your browser has a spell check? What browser do you use. Not that I'd switch to it.

    Underrated? Foreman was grossly overrated.

Please someone tell me who he has beaten.

    Don't worry I'll wait.

    Tune-up fight. Nothing more.

    Better win that Mosley?

    Lawl.

The real question now is, tune-up for what?

Who is he fighting next now that we got the bounce back fight out of the way.

    Yes that is it.
I am aware that I'm a really bad speller. I don't fell the need to correct my spelling mistakes. This isn't an important document. I don't care if you or anyone else judges my opinion on this or for that matter any subject that I chose to write about on ESB. On the basis that I can't spell.
It is clear that you understand every thing I wrote.
Perhaps you would like to entertain me with your opinion of the topic of the thread.

1 - you haven't seen the fight, so you can't comment at all
2 - re: the above. There should not be a rematch. It wasn't like Foreman was coming on strong or the fight was close. Even if Yuri won he next four rounds he wouldn't have taken it. Cotto was punishing him more and more as his legs slowed and his knee buckling was as a direct result of Cotto's pressure.
