1. Ward. Undefeated. Has developed a reputation for be a protected stay-at-home fighter not willing to fight abroad. His style so far has not been pleasing to the general boxing crowd. Top wins are Kessler (home) and Froch (home). Top level: ***** 2. Kessler. Has only ever lost to Calzaghe and Ward. Both on foreign soil, so like Ward has never lost at home. Crowd-pleasing style. Top wins are Froch (home), Andrade (home), and Mundine (away). Top level: ***** 3. Froch. Like Ward and Kessler has never lost at home. And has only ever lost to those two. Has good wins over Pascal, Taylor, and Abraham. Has had the toughest run ever in the SMW division. Indeed probably one of the toughest runs ever in boxing. Very crowd-pleasing style. Top level: ***** 4. Bute. Is the other fighter at SMW with a reputation for being protected. Has not had the opposition of any of the other top fighters. However, Bute has arguably looked better against equal opposition. Top level: ***** 5. Robert Stieglitz. Has grown tremendously as a world champion. Has beaten Gevor, Guttknecht, Balzay, Wilaschek (three of whom were undefeated before they met Robert. His style resembles that of Pavlik. He is ranked 4th on Boxrec. Top level: **** 6. Andre Dirrell. Fastest fighter at SMW with a lot of underused potential. Has beaten Abraham, and took Froch very close despite a poor fight plan. He is ranked 9th on Boxrec. Top level: ***** 7. Thomas Oosthuizen. A big version of Stieglitz and Pavlik. Less polished than Stieglitz is and Pavlik was. Dangerous for anyone, but I think he will have inconsistent results. He is ranked 6th on Boxrec. Top level: **** 8. Kelly Pavlik. A dangerous opponent for anyone, but probably on a slippery slide down-ward. Next fight should show us more about how serious Kelly is with boxing these days. He is ranked 8th on Boxrec. Top level: **** 9. Dimitri Sartison. One of the fastest guys at SMW. Technically very good. He is a little short against the elite though, and this will probably stop him from getting the elite scalps. Has beaten Gevor, Bosciz, and Perdomo. He is ranked 7th by Boxrec. Top level: **** 10. Arthur Abraham. Will probably move back down. Top level: **** 11. Glen Johnson. Tough customer, but not top level at SMW. Fair showings against Froch and Bute are his best performances. Beat Green. He is ranked 10th by Boxrec. Top level *** 12. Librado Andrade. Top level: **** 13. Sakio Bika. Top level: **** 14. Brian Magee. Top level: **** 15. Adonis Stevenson. Top level: **** 16. George Groves. Top level: **** 17. Jesus Gonzalez. Top level: *** 18. Edwin Rodriguez. Top level: *** 19. Anthony Dirrell. Top level: ***** 20. James deGale. Top level: ***
Green and Codrington?? haha I don't think they'd be a challenge for any of the top 4. it's not deep with talent but the top guys are among the best in the sport
good list but i think Glen Johnson should be higher i think he would beat Abraham, Pavlik, Stieglitz, Dimitri Sartison and maybe even Direll Stieglitz has nearly no chance vs Kessler in april
