First I would like to say that I really enjoyed watching these fights. It was a good 2 fight broadcast for HBO. I have to say that Showtime has been kicking HBO's ass with the amount of boxing it plays, which made me buy Showtime again, but Showtime's presentation seems to elementary school, whereas HBO seems more like college. Showtime shows poor highlight timing, commentators are ok, and they have no punch stats. Thats weak, but kudos for showing more of the sweet science. HBO has an overall good lineup of announcers with Merchant, Steward, and Lampley. Merchant has alzheimers at times I think with all the friggin pauses he takes between words, but he knows boxing. Kellerman tries too hard and Papa is an IDIOT!!! I HATE Bob Papa. He knows nothing baout boxing and its obvious. He is just as bad as that moron Fran whatever, the black dude that he replacd. Now as for the fights, the Punisher looked sharp and dominant. I am very impressed by him. He needs to improve his defense still, but he is young. He is an impressive young man IMO. Arreola is a fatty. The guy is 30lbs overweight. I give him props for winning and taking shots, but he is SLOW and FAT. If he wants to taken seriously, then he needs to drop at least 25 lbs and get some handspeed. Even that may not ever be enough because he seems very limited, but its his only change. KO's are fun to watch, but he wont last long like that last fight once he fights real HW's.
max kellerman sucks sometimes and imo punch status really dont count well the punches that are being landed and last but not least jim lampley its really bias
yeah man hbo have way too many ppv's and not enough boxing after dark shows. do showtime have many ppv's ???
Hate him or love him larry merchant is good for HBO...he says some of the most hilarious stuff ever, espeically when Vitali KO'd kirk johnson. His famous quote right after the fight was stopped in the 2nd round was, "That whale was just harpooned."
