All those three I mentioned were good fighters. Jackson was the WBO jr middleweight champ, and WBA middleweight champion.

How do you reason (in particular) Ryan & Ketchel over Monzon & Hagler?

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Between the Hopkins and Wright defeats, Trinidad had two fights against Cherifi and Mayorga and looked as good as ever.

Mayorga's style was made to order, but Trinidad's timing and precision was in the zone. His offense that night was a sight to behold.

Wright's style exposed Trinidad more than anything.

Billy Papke was better than anybody Monzon or Hagler beat at least relative to his own era. He was the clear cut No2 guy in the middleweight division and there was no single outstanding challenger in Monzons reign for example.

Ketchel also holds two wins over Philadelphia Jack O'Brien who was the established No1 fighter at 175lbs. One of them coming by early knockout. He also holds a knockout win over Dan Porky Flyn who was a prety usefull heavyweight of the era.

You would be hard put to find a middleweight who had a similar career profile in their own era. If Ketchel had lived longer who knows what he would have gone on to do?

Well my own lists get spongey and goes all to hell after 8 or 9 places, so I don't see why anyone else should be different!

LaMotta, despite his resume, was too limited to be in the top 10
