after watching boxing for some years now. i started to notice a few things.
for me theres 3 categories in a fighter today(feel free to add more if you feel there are)its more on there skill as a fighter.

first one is =the fighter who peaks at a young age.
for me taylor fits into this after being the best at his weight.then he gos on the down slope of deteriorating

second is= a fighter who becomes better as they age.
for me hopkins and calzaghe seem to fit this .

and third and final is, a fighter who never reaches the height of excellence but stays at a more above average level

for me this is a gatti/hatton/ward area for me.

just come thoughts.what you all think?

I didn't see much of a decline in Taylor until maybe his last two fights and I think he's in his 30's now so you can expect that... and IMO, the 2nd Pavlik fight was as good as he's ever looked.

    I'll add aother category:

Fighters who should have made better choices:

Grady Brewer is an example of this. He is a much better fighter than his record indicates. He had a few different mangagement offers but chose to manage himself. He should have always been at 147, not 154, and he should have never gone near 160. He took fights with guys like Taylor and Pavlik on short notice, et, et. In 2004 Anthony Thompson was a well regarded, undeafeated prospect. Grady sparked his ass in 2 rounds. He beat Steve Forbes to win the "Contender" competition, and recently beat K-9. If Grady had made better choices, he might have made some serious noise.

#4 - fighters who get they overrated, overprotrected ass whipped, and then go and fight guitar players from UK. But they still have dicksucker fans like Braveheart saying they are actually good. Then as time goes on, they get knocked out by big alien-headed motha****as and they get exposed, as they were never **** to begin with...
