First of all, congratulations to Ricky Burns. Very mature peformance, he called out Mitchell and Martinez afterwards. I think the Martinez fight might be a bit soon but a fight with the Dagenham lad would be a good domestic showdown. Hope to see it soon. Gomez put up a brilliant effort, it would have been nice to see him have his last hurrah, but it wasn't to be. I felt sad when he gave his interview in the dressing room afterwards, but he seemed accepting of the situation. If he can get a couple of easy bouts to get to the fifty mark then great, he deserves that, but if not he's had a fantastic career and been a great survant to British boxing. All the best Mike. Finally, Dodson v Quigley has to be an early contender for domestic fight of the year. What a fight. I can't say how much I admire both of these men for that effort. Dodson looked to be out of it in the second, he was cut and hurt with the tide, seemingly, turning against him. To comeback the way he did was nothing short of amazing. Quigley was hurt a few times himself but showed the fortitude of a champion and is worthy of the Lonsdale belt. It was nice to see such a great match up taking place for a proper belt. A great weekend of boxing.
