Victor Ortiz got what he deserved. I explaned this in another thread so I won't bore you with the detales.

Before he headbutted Mayweather, Ortiz was acatualy fighting a smart fight. I'm not saying he won any of the rounds or was winning the fourth. He did not apear to be making the same mistake that most of Mayweather's oppoents make. Which is to over exert them selves in the early rounds. Ortiz was fighting at a good pace. It is unlikely that he would have won the fight let alone any rounds, but that is more due to the fact that Mayweather is the better boxer. That's not a knock on Ortiz. There isn't anyone around who's better at boxing than Mayweather.

I don't know what was going on in Ortiz's head when he decided to headbutt Mayweather, and despite of what he said in the post fight interview that was on purpose. I thought that after the way he preformed in the Berto fight. He had gotten over the mental lasp that he had in the Miadana fight. It looks loke I was wrong about that.

Where dose Ortiz go from here? It is not his tallantskills/abillity tat is going to hold him back. He's a very good boxer and based on his physical tools there are not many guys in the 140-154 range who are better than him. It is what goes on between his ears that has and will hold him back.

Even if all the hugging crap didn't occur (that led to the knockout), in the long-run, I think Mayweater would have eventually knocked him out.

Ortiz is a good boxer, but I think Berto could beat him in a rematch. Cotto could possibly beat him.

Sadly for all his talents as a boxer, he's a mental midget. Even after the fight, it was like he didn't give a ****.

I was impressed with Ortiz. I never gave him a chance to win anyway, but I liked what he was doing and if he had been in that fight with anyone else, he would have whooped some ass.

    Bring on Ortiz vs Canelo
