Even though I think Vic will probably beat him tonight, I like Arce, and want him to win one last big one. I think he is on his way out, and would love to see him win it.

But I think Vic has been rising lately, his destructions of Kirilov and Mijares in 2008 both exceptional and unexpected. He also boxed well, seemingly adding a new dimension to his game. He seemed to think first then punch, and it made his awkward style much more effective. He also has developed some defense, which he will surely need against Arce.

In order for Arce to win, he will have to get to Vic's body and make it into a slugfest early. This plan could work against him as well, as Vic has got some serious pop, but I feel it is the only way Arce can win. He will have to make it dirty, and make sure he can keep Vic in front of him, so he can land those bombs he once threw so well.

Body shots will be key for Arce, as he has got to keep Vic from using those angles. Wrestle him, drive him into the ropes, maul him. That is the key for Arce. Try to slow Vic down, and then pour it on him down the stretch.

What Vic must do to win is simple: Use his feet and give Arce angle after angle, which is Vic's specialty. He can really hurt Arce if he lands enough power punches, and if he can use his jab, move, and then fire sharp combo's upsatirs and down, I really dont think Arce, warrior he may be, will be able to stand up to that for the whole fight.

Vic must also use head movement, to confuse Arce and make him look crude. If Vic can start this early, look for Arce to be stopped somewhere around 8 or 9.

As for a prediction, I am a bit on the fence. My mind says Vic by brutal KO, but my heart says Arce by dramatic late stoppage. I believe Arce CAN win it, I really do. But I feel he will have to call up something deep within himself to do it, as, let's face it, he hasn't looked good in a long time. Also, the beatings and age may have taken a severe toll.

But if he fights the right gamplan, he can get to Vic. I don't know, but I will stay out of this one. I won't brag if Arce wins and say I told you so (like I did with Margarito and Pavlik, whom I predicted to get stomped). If Vic wins, well, everyone predicted Vic, so there you go.

I am drunk already, enjoy the fight fellas. :good

Both are trash talkers and I'm a fan of both . . . I would want Arce to win but I don't see it happening.

If Arce wins on this . . . then I'm wrong but I'll be happy.
