This was an intense fight. Not action packed like I had hoped but it was very tense. This was a very unreliable guage as to where Cotto is mentally.

To me, this fight showed that Cotto was dealing with some inner demons with the Margarito fight in there. I think he very much wanted to prove to himself more than anyone that he can still be the terminator he once was. But simply put it...he still looked very human. He freaked out with Clottey's combination punching and didnt fire back like he used to. He doesnt like being hit at all anymore. He looked slow and sloppy as **** in there. Cotto's combinations weren't as crisp and put together as usual. He went to the body a few times and a lot more than the Margo fight, but it just seemed like he couldnt get those RIGHT spots. That's more of a testament to Clottey than anything else.

Much like Cintron, they both put on good performances but one's that both showed the mental scarring of a fight with Margarito.

I think Cotto might have performed at a much higher level had it not been for the gash. Possibly even the stoppage. But something is DEFINITELY missing from Cotto. He's just much more vulnerable in there. I will admit that my confidence in the guy has very much been shaken.

My props to Clottey for putting up one helluva performance. I hope he wasnt serious about quitting because he can give many other guys hell. He is a pretty big baby though. He whined about the knee (then bounced around numerous times after), cried about a shot to the head (even after holding onto Cotto's arm and not expecting **** to happen), cried about being boo'd by the audience (waving his finger around like that will change anything...You aint Gerry Penalosa ****er...stop it!) and then cried about the decision...**** happens...this is boxing...not soccer...grow the **** up.

I just think that Cotto NEEDS a better trainer. NEEDS to give his skin sometime to heal properly. NEEDS to get back to his old cocky self. NEEDS to give that guy a rematch and hope there's no other headbutt incidents. Rematch Mosley in a neutral venue (not in Cali...although I would love that) And simply forget about Margarito...I dont think he has.

If Cotto hadn't on soo many other occasions in his career opted to start moving along the ropes when the heat turned up I might go for the Margarito excuse, but the fact is Cotto has always had his limits. N'dou had him "running," and Mosley did as well, among others.

I agree...something isn't quite right, and it makes me sad.

Actually, it makes me more mad if Margarito was cheating, but that's another story.

I'm worried this is the end for Cotto. I had my doubts when I saw him with those new tattoos for the Jennings fight

clottey could have won if he really put it on cotto in round 8 cause cotto looked exactly the same in the margo fight the guy has stamina issues several times in the later rounds he had clottey trapped against the ropes but let him of if you have enough gas why do that?

Look, Cotto is fine. First of all he was dealing with the cut ove rhis eye, which was massive and constantly bleeding. Second of all, Clottey is gonna make anyone look bad. Who the hell likes to get hit? The point of boxing isnt to stand there and take a beating, its to hit more and effectively not get hit. He never once looked stunned or gun shy. In fact, he looked eager to mix it up. He only stopped or backed away when he couldnt see and was getting hit with right after right. He had to constantly wipe the blood from his eye while fighting.
