Firstly i congratulate pacquiao on his win and great performance. Ok, the undercard was pretty mediocre, i thought yuri foreman boxed well and deserved to win his fight but it wasnt pretty to watch and there was a lot of headclashes (not as bad as Santos made out though. Chavez Jnr, what can i say, this fight was terrible and for a guy with a 41 - 0 - 1 record he looks terrible, the talk of putting him in the ring with Pavlik before the fight was just silly, Chavez would get annialated and certainly looks like a second rate fighter. The main event, this promotion has been brilliant, both guys have been respectful and didnt need to resort to playing games to sell the fight (unlike the trainers). The first round saw the two warriors try to work each other out with cotto landing some nice jabs straight through the middle of pacs defence which pac appeared to feel. The knockdown in the second round was more of a flash KD but was well worked, I think the KD may have affected Cotto a little as he must have been questioning whether he could deal with pacs speed and power. The fourth round was easily pacs round of the night when he scored an exceptional KD and i thought Cotto was saved by the bell as his legs looked very wobby at the end of the round. (i also had money on pac to win in this round so was jumping all over at this point) I though Cotto did well to get back involved after both KDs and he did enough to take the fifth round although you could see he was tiring and Pac started to really dominate from the sixth onwards. I thought the fight should have been stopped at the end of the ninth as cottos face was a real mess and there was little chance of him winning the fight although he did hurt pac with a right hook in the eleventh. A lot of people thought the should have let cotto finish the fight but to be fair to the ref there is no need to endanger anyones health and cotto had earned all the respect he should get for the way he determindly battled on. Both guys are true warriors in my mind and i have really enjoyed this promotion. I wish both guys good luck in the future whatever routes they take. I thnk Pac Mayweather will be a definate go after they sort the money issues out. Cotto should have a couple of easier fights before fighting another top rated boxer as he has been in some hellasious wars lately and needs to give time for his face to heal properly.
Chavez jnr is second rate!? You must be a Chaveztard! Joking man but in all seriousness i dont understand why this kid is persisting or why his father allows him to even think about fighting world class opponents. Chavez Jnr's ''acsendancy'' to the top of the middleweieght rankings is the biggest embarrasment of boxing in the world today.
My hangover was kicking in during the Foreman fight and all that bouncing around he was doing was not helping one bit!
