People are saying why is he doing the fight now? But, if you sit back and think about it and really really think about it, it makes perfect sense for Floyd. Why fight this guy at the age of 38 or 39 and him at 25-26 in his PRIME and Floyd clearly pass his. Why would money want to fight him at the back end when you know you will be physically and mentally slower and not able to react the same. When he can fight him now, while he is still green and his skills are still far better than his and the risk of losing is dropped down a lot. C'mon guys, yes its a great fight, but in reality when you really look at it, it's mismatch... I'm a money fan and I think this was a BRILLIANT move for him to secure his 0 for the remaining of his career. Cause we all know Canelo will not be getting any rematch, so after him who is left? Khan, Garcia, really??? atsch Smart move Money....smart move...
This fight wouldn't be able to happen in 2-3 years. Alvarez will be a middleweight by then. 22 y/o who comes in for 154 fights at 172 pounds
So what the **** is he supposed to do for the rest of his career if every fight in your books that he takes is a mismatch? This is NOT a mismatch. This is realistically a 55-45 fight, maybe 60-40 in favor of PBF
Floyd is only fighting Canelo because Canelo is the only one that can bring in a the massive PPV. Beside he made a ***** move by asking for a catchweight when he talked all bad about PAC and his catchweight.
this is the toughest fight available right now (within reason) Lets just leave it at that. Yes i'd prefer it at 154, but the 152 is worth it just to give aload of **** to the *****s on this site really, and to make them see that catchweights happen to make fights between fighters of differant sizez. Maybe the hate on pacs resume will stop now. Nah probably not
I'm glad the fight is happening, but I know like all realistic boxing fans know, this is a well scouted and calculated fight. I would do the same thing, **** the fans. They aren't in there training and getting hit. We all just sideline bammas trying to act like we know.... 147, 152, 154, it doesn't matter the skill difference is huge....fighting cab drivers and taco stand owners doesnt prove anything....IMO
This fight is one of the more intriguing fights that Mayweather has took up through the years on his journey to being one of the all time greats. Canelo has a real chance at winning this one. Anyone who plays this fight down are the ones who are never happy. I'd rather this than Garcia/Khan/Matthysse/Alexander. Canelo poses a real threat.
