A lot of people are blaming Mayweather for not making the fight entertaining. Going into the fight, no one expected this. Why would you? Mayweather has fought the same way for years. Pacquiao is really to blame. He is the action fighter. He was to force the action just as Maidana had done. The strategy was to overwhelm Mayweather. Pacquiao did the opposite and did not change his game plan even when it was failing.

This is like when Wlad and Haye stunk up the joint but everyone just targeted Haye

They both caused the boring fight and the same is true for this

    My thoughts

manny weight 152 and floyd looked twice his size- damn!

Floyds defense is now getting to be arguably the best of all time

his chin- that shot he took in the 4th, thats a serious chin he has

mannys stamina was non existent in this fight- disapointing

before round 8, although floyd had the advantage, it was a gimme fight, very close

i dont see anyone beat floyd at 147 but khan has a real chance

i would bet big on khan if there was good odds

5-1 or better i would put 3 figures on it, mark my words, thats a real good bet,

floyd cant ko and khan cant be outboxed

No because the boxer will of course do what it takes to win, if he can win the fight safely why would he take risks and unnecessary punishment that could potentially cost him the fight? If the boxer can outbox the other fighter easily (and yes perhaps in a boring fashion), he's probably going to do it - it's common sense.

The brawler/less skilled fighter is the one that NEEDS it to be a "fight" because he can't hang with the boxer skillwise, so he must force the issue.

Yes but if the fight is boring then he should expect criticism

Boxing is entertainment as much as it is sport and if you do just enough to win then you won't get as much credit from the fans

Manny is the shorter boxer. It's his job to make the fight and attack.

I expected the fight to be closer. Maidana, showed in his last two fights a mini blueprint on how to force Floyd to change his game. Roach and Pac obviously didn't think much of Maidana and Garcias game plan. If Pac had Robert Garcia in his corner, the fight would have been more competitive.

I think you might be right

Roach seemed to be a total non factor

His control aggression plan was a total flop as I knew it would be

Should have told Pacquaio to just go for broke

    Agreed.

Everyone knows how Floyd fights. His style isn't a mystery, his fights are all up on Youtube. If you can't come up with a gameplan to disrupt his style that's your fault. People should be mad at Pacquiao but they're so salty that Floyd won.

Manny was fighting the P4P king. He should have fought like he wanted it. Instead he tried to outhink the boxer.

Floyd makes you look bad controlling the distance you are always too far from him on top of his impenetrable guard "too much junk in his trunk"

Out of interest, why doesn't this apply to Wlad's opponents?

The boredom factor is more Pacquiao's fault as obviously he needed to be the aggressor. After the first three rounds they needed to shift gears and change plan, and for whatever reason, didn't. Pacquiao has been in many wars and lost the motivation to fight that type of fight years ago.

As for Roach, I agree with the comments that Garcia in the corner would have made the fight interesting. I'm not at all sure what happened to Roach to be such a non-factor, and if you look at previous recent Pacquiao fights, it seems he became more and more distant.

Strategically, the Mayweather camp was genius in waiting to take the fight until now. The non-mainstream fans were duped into thinking this would somehow be a close fight, when we all new it would play out like it did.
