Sues, nice opening post . . . and the litany of things I would do to Tarver's wife is enumerable.

Boy, do I hate when they throw a chump to the lions like they did with Cotto. It makes it difficult to gauge a fighter's true progress and current status. I can't say that I'm overly hyped about Cotto on account of this fight because Gomez is a C-level guy. What is impressive about Cotto is that he does not fight down to the level of his competition which many fighters are guilty of and the trajectory of his punches is as straight as one can ask for. On top of that he produces a lot of leverage on them. These two things coupled together make his blows appear even quicker than they are. He has good fluid combinations and his defense appears to be top notch. There doesn't appear to be many *****s in his armor.

One thing I loved about Margarito was his footwork as he niftily sidestepped his opponent to create a nice angle with which he used to pummel Cintron's face.

One thing I did not like about Cintron was his incessant, unwarranted whining in the ring and the dumbass referee who entertained it. Margarito was not rabbit-punching. Cintron was exercising poor defense which put him in a position to be hit upon the back of the head. Where these punches landed was through no fault of Margarito's. Cintron bent over often only allowing the top and back of his head to be exposed. If the referee was to do anything he should have warned Cintron.

It was a good night of fights nonetheless and no PPV. Kudos, networks.

Margarito throws short compact punches? What the hell are you talking about??? I dont think he winged a punch all night????

    :huh

Most of Tony's work was on the inside with uppercuts and body work....Cintron was the guy in the yellow trunks throwing the wide shots. FYI!
