I picked Katsidis to KO Casamayor, based on the belief that Casa was shot. Obviously, I was wrong, and completely stunned by not only the first round..but by the fire Casa came out with. Getting in Katsidis' mug when he entered the ring, letting him know he was ready to scrap. Then seemingly wanting to run across the ring and tear into Katsidis before the opening bell. Casamayor was clearly motived for this fight and it showed.

Early on Casamayor couldn't miss with his straight left. After a round or two, Katsidis started to keep his right glove glued to the side of his face and was picking off more punches than he was getting credit for. I noticed after the big first round, Casa started to fight in spurts. Not sure if it was by design, or if he expended too much energy in round one. But as the rounds went on, I remember saying to my friend that Casamayor wouldn't be able to stand the pressure and would eventually wilt.

Which seemed to be the case in round six. Katsidis' body attack was noticeably effective already at this point. Then he hurt Casa with a left hook to the body and knocked him through the ****ing ropes. :yikes A lot of referees would have called that fight off, but lucky for Casa he didn't get the Andy Lee treatment.

After that big round six, in the later rounds I remember telling my boy again that both fighters looked gassed and the fighter who got his second wind first would probably win by KO. Which obviously turned out to be Casamayor. I give the old man props. He proved me wrong and has a lot more left in the tank than I expected.

As far as Katsidis goes, I think he could have pulled it out if he didn't abandon the body attack. He seemed to forget all about it, and became as reckless as he had been in round one. But that's Boxing. You can't win them all, and who cares if he lost. I'm a fan, and regardless of his limitations, he comes to fight each and every night and I have no problem paying to watch him fight again.

Same thinig with Librada Andrade. Limited fighter, who gives it all in the ring. It disgusts me to see the very same so called "fans" who complain about fights such as Klitschko-Ibragimov, Taylor-Spinks, etc...belittle fighters like this because they may not be the most technically sound or skilled. These men are true fighters and put their lives on the line to entertain us. Show some respect.

Kudo's to your post. Andrade is a very limited fighter with a big heart. Some, like myself, would say he sucks. But he brings it and overachieves in the ring. It's not all about how much talent you have. If you have the desire, heart and drive, you can get some things done in the ring.

Can't compare it to Lee's stoppage last night.

Lee never went down and was throwing back, not stumbling forward taking punishment and not fighting back.
