Kudos to Vitali, for another amazing performance...probably the best since he's been back from his layoff. He looked awkward in the first few rounds, but his unbelievable arsenal of punches (even though they are arm punches) is astounding to behold...Steward is correct that Vitali certainly has a "sixth sense" where he can see punches coming before they're thrown.

Vitali stayed out of range, was always a half-step out of distance, wonderful side to side movement as well. Honestly, this fight will probably spark more interest in a Klitschko superfight with each other, as Vitali looked every bit as menacing as Wlad. And once again, Vitali showed that amazing chin...he took some good shots, and never looks remotely bothered.

As for Arreola, a spirited effort, BUT...what the **** was with him NEVER throwing a right hand? The few right hands he threw, he landed, and clean! Whenever he'd get a straight right hand, it would find Vitali, but he threw maybe 10 all night, as well as a rare few overhand rights which were downright pathetic. If he had a right hand to speak of tonight, I think he could have lasted the 12 rounds, and maybe picked up another 1 or 2 rounds.

Overall, another great Vitali performance. I still think Wlad would beat him should they face, but it is EASILY the most competitive fight out there.

Yes a great performance by Vitaly.

Before the fight I honestly thought it would be a quick beat-down. I believed Arreola was in so far over his head that it wasn't even funny.

In the fight, Chris showed incredible heart. Kudos for that. I am sure his face and body is not a good place to be right now. He showed us that he was willing to put in all on the line - ALL. Good thing his friend stopped the fight because Chris has a life to live and hopefully many more fights. I do not want to see him ruined just because he wanted to try to finish the fight. I actually am a fan and look forward to seeing Arreola's next fight. Once the brothers are not fighting Arreola will be a real contender for the title.

I'll give Vitali props for the win, but Arreola seems awfully limited. I've never seen him fight before (Arreola) and to me it seemed he didn't know the first thing about slipping a jab. What kind of pro is that?
What exactly was his gameplan? To plod forward, bolt upright, and to throw virtually no punches? Did he prepare for Vitali at all, seeing as though he didn't have the first clue on how to fight him?

No disrespect to Klitschko, but it's not hard to look good against a brave but cluless opponent.

Vitali is tall and awkward, but fighters have overcome height and reach disadvantages thousands of times. It looked like Arreola was absolutely made to order for Klitschko's style.

i might get crucified by arreola fans for saying this but while i think arreola has a warrior's mentality and a solid chin, he will NEVER win any kind of title because the guy is just a lazy slob. boxing is a 365 day a year sport because you just can't pig out for 46 weeks and then have a 6 week training camp and expect to win a heavyweight title! what the hell is arreola thinking?

kudos to vitali because this guy is the epitome of a heavyweight boxer who eats, drinks and sleeps boxing 365 days a year. no wonder there aren't any viable american heavyweights out there. they think just because they have a big body and can punch a little bit they won't have to train that hard.

the reason arreola looked so sluggish tonight was because of his 251 pounds! he couldn't put any punches together, was slow as ****, couldn't throw straight punches and just followed vitali around the ring like a hotel bell boy.

i think arreola could have looked much better if he would have trained like a champion and not let his body get away from him. i know he can fight. he's one of the very few heavyweights out there that can throw beautiful combinations but with that kind of weight he'll never amount to anything but a championship eating fatso.

Well, he showed he can go more than 8 rounds, and I was surprised to see him still somewhat awake at that point.

I honestly think his lack of a right hand KILLED him this fight. He was looking ONLY for the left hook...too predictable.

I agree Arreola should have let some of those right hands go. But if he did the fight would have had to been stopped sooner.

He will learn a lot from tonight and become more well rounded.

Vitali fought the perfect fight. Excellent performance against the #1 contender.

the ****ing dude couldn't even get his punches off because he was too fat and sluggish! did he think he could win by being dreadfully out of shape? before the fight i was hoping for a miracle and arreola would win but after seeing this tub of lard getting waxed all night long i was glad he lost! serves him good. maybe next time he'll put down that big green chile burrote and stay in reasonable shape throughout the year. without a change of attitude he'll never amount to anything.

Agree with everything but i think vitaly is too good a boxer for wlad. He also remains focused and calm under pressure better then wlad.
