I am very frustrated with Wlad. I have been for years. Every since he teamed up with Steward he has fought like he's afraid of his opponents. I was just watching some of his fights and I notice how he seems to panic everytime he gets hit. He also has the tendency to panic when his opponent gets close enough to hit him, even if he never throws a punch. That crazy look he gets on his face and the way he falls all over his opponents flailing as he frantically tries to grab their arms to tie them up. I noticed this in the Brock, Rahman, Chambers, Peter, Ibragimov, and Brewster fights. It is just very frustrating to watch him paw like a scared cat at outclassed opponents and then knock them out only after Steward screams and swears at him between rounds!! This is why he has trouble getting respect outside of Germany. He is the best HW in the game, but watching him fight is exhausting. I end up hoarse after every one of his fights because i'm screaming at the TV for him to throw a goddamned punch other than a pawing jab!! ****!!!!
You've got to think a lot of fighters want to win, not impress all the time. If you could use your size and skillset that much you've dominated for half a decade and lost mabye a handfull of rounds woulden't you? Besides it woulden't help his modelling if he had a tear up in evrey fight.
Frustrating indeed especially when we know that this guy's power is huge! He could knock all of them within 4 rounds but he's very cautious. Against Peter he said he would knock him out and he wants to be agressive. I think his confidence is sky-high right now so we'll see. Would be great if he comes agressive from the 1st round. Peter wouldnt last 4 IMO.
Wlad's skills + Vitali's Chin + Vitali's Heart = Great HW As it stands, neither man is all that special. They came to boxing at the right time to clean up bums and make big money off the Germans.
