Watched the replay sober this past wknd and it seemed more competitive than it did last Sat. Floyd certainly won but I didnt see the dominance that everyone spoke of. The first 4-5 rounds were pretty even rounds that neither fighter dominated nor clearly won. There were about 3-4 rounds that Floyd CLEARLY won. He resorted to one and done punching and never completely overwhelmed, hurt, or had Alvarez in any type of trouble what so ever and vice versa. Most of the rounds were decided by just a few more jabs landed by Floyd. At the end of the day he was able to lay more leather than Alvarez was able to lay on him and that was the story of the fight although Alvarez was able to land some nice solid shots on Floyd here and there. To sum up the fight, it was as if Floyd was playing a game of "tag your it" and was able to tag canelo more times than canelo was able to tag him.

Where Floyd really shined was in his defense. He was able to avoid pretty much 95 percent of what canelo was throwing at him. His reflexes are unreal.

Yes. The night of the fight was a complete blur. Was celebrating my bday at the bar I watched the fight at and didn't remember much of the fight. From what I was reading on the forums people made it seem ad if Floyd put on a Gatti-esque type performance. Yes he controlled the fight but I fail to see where he utterly "dominated". They were all pretty much competitive rounds with Floyd edging out canelo by a few more thrown/landed.

I watched the fight live on TV; couldn't get myself to watch it again. Floyd clearly won but I wouldn't also say he dominated the fight.

What? When was the last time Floyd busted someone up???

Floyd beat him by making him look silly with his precognitive ability for lack of a better description. Every time Canelo was about to do something he got hit just before he could do it, and in return Canelo spent the night hitting arms, gloves or air. You can see the obvious exasperation on Canelo's face thru the whole fight. Towards the end, it's almost sad watching that look of defeat. I don't think it was ever implied that Floyd beat the the crap out of Canelo, ahaha!

It was a chess match & Mayweather was Bobby Fisher.

I had it a draw but I was being a tad generous to Canelo since I hate Mayweather. There were a lot of close rounds and I don't see how this is as immpressive as De La Hoya stopping Vargas or Duran beating Barkley but apparently Mayweather is the best p4p ever now according to *****'s.

Still this was a pretty close fight that was won by the slightly cleaner boxing.

the kid came to fight. can't take that away from him. but he was never in danger of mounting an effective offense and was clearly out of his league.

but he took it well and he's still very young so I think he can learn a lot from it.

Freaking open your eyes lol. The rounds were never close unless you're counting arm punches.

Mayweather was getting a lot of credit for hitting gloves at times, which was very hypocritical of the commentators because they were being very clear about how you can't score shots Canelo was landing on gloves.

Hitting gloves, snapping Canelo's head back. I see the similarities. I am sure it was just the commentators that saw that. Has nothing to do with the official numbers where Floyd landed over 50% of his power shots once again and kept Canelo around 25%.

    Stop trolling.

I can see how he landed a high percentage of power shots when he threw very few power shots. 90 percent of Floyds punches throughout the fight were jabs.
