great choices. although i would put benn and mclellan at 2 in that list. possibly benn eubank as well. they were great fights.

 

First of all, great list. Second, don't pay attention to idiots who make comments like the one above.

And to Boondock Saint, who after this post post suddenly started posting in ALL CAPS...you should not read so much into this man's post. He picked three great fights and he wanted to share them with us. And he's right, they are three unbelievably great fights. Lay off the caps and the seeming anti-Mexican crap and people will respect you.

Awesome choices...those most likely would've been mine too...I'll add some honorable mentions of my own personal favs in particular order

Miguel Cotto vs. Ricardo Torres

I think fight won Cotto over for me. I watched the Corley fight and didnt think much of Cotto...after this fight...my doubts were answered. He showed SERIOUS heart and power. He outpowered one of the scariest KO artists in that division. It was a wonderful fight to watch. Round 1 and 2 are the climatic build-ups with another climax in Rd 5. This to me shows that Cotto is NOT a quitter. **** anyone that says otherwise.

Joe Calzaghe vs. Byron Mitchell

As much as I don't like his over hyped fame, the man has heart! When you put him down, he only manages to turn up the volume with some serious fury. I still think he's overrated and definitely not an GOAT candidate, but definitely a HOF and lower scale ATG. This showcases a short but sweet Calzaghe battle and his will to win.

Roger Mayweather vs. Julio Caeser Chavez

I love this fight because Mayweather during this era was one of the biggest **** talkers (mostly against mexicans) of recent boxing history. Constantly calling himself the mexican killer. Then the last standing mexican legend answers the call to defend the honor of his countrymen and challenges the brash Black Mamba and shut his ****in' mouth UP! :bbb Great fight. Showing casing will vs. skill.
