quite a young division so there shouldn't be much wrong here :think quite a few quality fighters have been in this division come to think of it, from gomez to nishioka the division has seen some proper quality :good
Why would Bungu lose his claim for Barrera beating a man he had already shown his superiority to?. Mind you Bungu went downhill quick during the latter half of his title run, getting some very close calls and turning in poor performances.I'd use that more as a claim for dropping him than anyone beating McKinney.
you're right, it's a bit of both. Bungu began putting inconsitent performances whilst barrera was on top form. the ring actually had barrera already ahead of bungu at this point. I just thought the combination of buingu's close fights and barrera's epic stoppage victory was enough to recognise mab as the best in the world. As much as I am for a fighter dropping in rankings, that, for me, is only an interim measure until someone below scores a victory worthy of overtaking them. So it isn't just the victory over kennedy, ti's the combination of all things.
