shavers doesnt deserve this number one slot imo his kos were against lesser foes and inexperienced fighters i would take him off totally and move everyone up one and flip dempsey and louis..but there is nothing wrong with this list at all and dempsey is just my personal choice to move up

My list: 1. Barbados Demon Joe Walcott 2. Sam Langford 3. Julian Jackson 4. Thomas Hearns 5. Ricardo Lopez 6. Earnie Shavers 7. George Foreman 8. Carlos Zarate 9. Stanely Ketchel 10. Jack Dempsey
I think that has more to do with him being a lesser fighter than his power, nearly, if not everyone who's fought him has said he was the hardest puncher.
this as i take it is not a pound for pound hardest punchers it is (hardest punchers, period)so alexis and kecthel and whatever other smaller fighters mentioned cannot possibly be ahead of max baer, louis ,rocky, dempsey ,jeffries,or any other heavyweight -ketchel might come somewhat close to some but alexis is even smaller-although i think weight is exagerated when people consider power this is a huge strecth
Larry Holmes said that out of both Tyson and Shavers, he said Shavers hit him the hardest he'd ever been hit. I read somewhere on his message board that years ago, his punches were measured, along with other fighters, and that he scored the highest out of all of them with 1600 LBS per sq. inch.
