Of the greats,Foreman's right hook or Lennox Lewis's overhand right were amazingly powerful. Tyson was probably punching his hardest at around 95/96.Of course it's a question of landing the punch flush. Being a harder puncher doesn't mean you're a better fighter or even a more hurtful puncher. After all it's been said that Baer had greater one-punch power than Louis and Cleveland Williams was all round a more powerful puncher than Liston.
Why do you asume that a fighters KO% directly reflects their power? There are a number of other factors at work such as their finishing ability delivery and of course the quality of their opposition. Vitally Klitschko, and Frank Bruno are examples of fighters who have maintained high KO percentages by fighting predominantly weak opposition. Joe Louis having a KO% of 85 % against predominantly ranked oponents is far more impresive but of course it is not just down to his raw power. Then there are guys like Bob Satterfield who were obviously bangers but have low KO percentages because they were constantly overmatched.
Quite agree Mac Foster had a terrific ko % till he met world class men .Same with Lamar Clark.Louis kod 3 Heavyweight Champs before he even won the title.Sometimes its WHO you beat ,not how many.
Tyson, ruddock, george, marciano, frazier, vitali, wlad, chavez, lewis, louis, the list goes on................
I'm sorry, but Vitali does not belong. No way. His brother hits harder. Ruddock, Morrison and Bruno too, just to name a few bangers over the last few years.
