My top 10 heavyweights in the World today

Staring with the obvious, nearly every source lists Vitali with an 80" reach, and that might be understated as he has the unofficial HBO reach of 29.5" form the pit of the arm to the fist. Why do you list 79"?

Here is how I see it as of fight now.

1A ) Vitali
1B ) Wlad
3 ) Chagaev
4 ) Povetkin
5 ) Peter
6 ) Haye
7 ) Adamek
8 ) Chambers
9 ) Gomez
10 ) Solis

There is some young talent on the way up. Boystov, Pulev, Helenius, and Glaskov.

 

He is the most battle tested of the lot. Chageav has wins over Ruiz, and Valuev when they were far closer to their primes. He has beaten Virchs who was briefly ranked in the top ten.

I think vaulting a fighter down the list who lost to Wlad is a mistake if the fighter has proven himself by beating 3 top ten guys.

Chagaev only has lost once, and can fight multiple styles, except skilled super heavies.

 

He looks good against Mehaan right now.

 

True. Is warming up and improving though. Still some rust there.

 

To be honest with you, if people wanted to acknowledge Wlad as the lineal champion based on his win over Chagaev, I would go allong with it.

 

I think Ibragimov is better, or was better than Chagaev, personally. I believe that he turned out to be a craftier, more resourceful fighter, and besides, if Wlad keeps on ko'ing his future opponents, that feat of lasting the limit with him should count for something for Iggy.

 

Chagaev was better than Ibragimov. He isn´t Top5 anymore though. Perhaps he is still too rusty but I think he just too much past it now.

This is the win that won me over.

The Chris Byrd meant a lot, but the chagaev win really did unify.

If you look back at my lineal championship thread, Chagaev had a real lot of lineal titles and this win was definitely a legitimate unification bout. In fact, the only person who has any type of legitimate claim at a world title is Vitali. And since both are never fighting each other, i think it legitimises Wladimir's claim.
