I like that. The new modern era of boxing based on fights and not the "prime this prime that" **** that seems to role ....................
That's very true!!! It's quite difficult to have one Klit much above the other as most people would pick Vitali H2H, but Wlad has achieved more recently. If they fought only the winner would be in there, but of course they wont. Then we have Haye who has now done what only Evander Holyfield has done before him. The jump from CW-HW is harder than any other division jump in boxing. P.s I only have 2 on mine!!!
didnt the guy vitali beat to become champ do it as well? I may be wrong as im no historian. But it does seem like moving up in weight to heavy is the most difficult.
floyd did just beat the previously considered by most the # 2, and he was before his year and a half smoke break considered hands down #1. I also think since he is the same approximate weight then he would have to beat pac to be above him. how about #1 manny #1 floyd ?
Because P4P was for the fighter who excells in multiple divisions ..Heavies stay put ..Ever since this list has been created heavies were never apart of it .
False!!!! P4P in it's original sense was designed to talk about boxers whose skills transcended weight divisions. It's moved on from this vastly to include resume and acheivements, but are you seriously telling me that you don't think Lewis, Tyson, Holmes, Ali, Frazier were ranked P4P??? Check the ring website (not that that's official)...and you'll see that many HW's have been included in P4P lists!!!
Show me a list where Tyson and Lewis were p4p best in the 80's and 90's ..Ever since this list was created and all the back and forth heavies were never ranked or at least ranked in the top 10 ..If were talking top 20 or 50 maybe but I have never seen Tyson ahead of anyone's p4p list when he was hw champ ..And resume only became a factor in the late 90's when popularity was the measuring stick thats why people like Trinidad where ranked so high but he was 1 dimesnional .. Its meant for the fighter with the complete package (speed ,power ,chin etc ) then resume ..Do you really think resume is what kept Jones at the top of the p4p list for almost ten yrs ? Of course not there were fighters with better resumes .
1. Manny Pacquaio 2. Floyd Mayweather Jr. 3. Shane Mosley 4. Wladamir Klitschko 5. Miguel Cotto 6. Juan Manuel Marquez 7. Bernard Hopkins 8. Vitali Klitschko 9. David Haye 10. Abraham/Adamek/Williams
I don't want to put him in untill he fights a Welterweight or Pacquiao. It's not out of hate or spite.
Why not? While they were in the same division, Cotto wouldn't come within three area codes of PW. And now paul is moving up two divisions to fight because guys on the p4p list in hs same division refused him? :huh No WW should be placed above him if everyone knows that at 147 he would be favored to kick all of their asses....
