Ya. I agree with you. I switched it. Thing is, I think highly of Walcott as a puncher. The man could knock you out with one punch with either hand. He scored a lot of one punch knockdowns/knockouts throughout his career. On film, and according to contemporary sources, the man was a big hitter. The guy certainly had a knack of flooring ATG champions. Walcott did score stoppage victories over Gomez, Sheppard, and Ray, and Murray. All of these men are in the top 10. This has to count for something.

Compiling this list, however, i have to take into account walcotts knockouts victories over Johnson, Charles, and KD of Marciano happened after 1949..so they do not count.

Something feels wrong. I have walcott at # 8, yet he stopped the #s 4-7 on my list?

 

I would also like to say Ezzard Charles may seem a surprise, but the man scored very highly in knockouts over strong opposition. Charles had a knack of getting stoppage victories. He knocked out many world class heavyweights in the 40s(Ray, Bivins, Valentino) and knocked out a few big who had never been stopped before(Baksi). Charles knockout of Valentino with one right hand was classic. He also knocked out Archie Moore.
