Hi all, My boxing top 20 greatest fighters of all time, in order. (reverse) Honourable mention: 30. Aaron Pryor-- Arguello was not enough. He should have fought Hearns, Leonard and Hagler and beat them all, or at least two of them. 29. Mike McCallum. The Body Snatcher. 28. Sonny Liston 27. Manny Pacquiao-- simply has not done enough as yet for me to put him in the top 20. I'm simply not impressed by his opponents and calibre of fighting. I don't listen to the hype, I watch the fights and the opponents. 2 and 1 against Morales; 2 and 0 against Barrera (who was and is over-rated); 1-0-1 against Juan Manuel; not knocking out Margarito; beating a forced ripe Cotto; and slapping up an old oscar DLH does not speak greatness. I'm sorry! 26. Joe Calzaghe-- untested by the other great fighters in his era that were in their prime. Not enough to make great fighters list. 25. Emille Grifith 24. Carlos Monzon 23. Jess Willard 22. Henry Armstrong 21. Evander Holyfield-- sure he beat Tyson. But Tyson was going downhill and fast by that time, again. Sure he beat Bowe, but then came back in the rubber match and was blasted. Sure he became HW champion again, but lost to John Ruiz and then MD'd with him in the rubber match. ------------------------------------------------------- 20. Thomas Hearns-- great way to start this list off, with the greatest right hand to have ever graced the boxing ring! 19. Bob Foster-- the second greatest right hand to have ever graced the boxing ring! 18. Joe Frazier 17. Vitali Klitschko--- yup. He is better than his younger brother. In so many ways! Everyone knows it. 16. Bernard Hopkins-- the title run record speaks for itself. He should have beaten RJJ the first time in order to be in the top 10; he also should have beaten Calzaghe and Taylor at least once, and he would probably replace RJJ in the top 5. 15. Lennox Lewis 14. Floyd Mayweather Jr.-- at this era in lighter division boxing, with guys fighting at catchweights and with the numerous amounts of supplements that atheletes take, what Mayweather is doing is simply breath-taking. Sure he takes time off from fights, but if you look at his size and compare his opponents average size, this man is taking a beating and winning. Convincingly. We are witnessing greatness. Regardless of what happens during the rest of his career, he will be in the top 20. And until he faces Pac-Man, he will never break the top 10. 13. Roberto Duran 12. Marvin Hagler-- he should have won against Leonard. If he had, he would be in my top 5. 11. Mike Tyson 10. Sugar Ray Leonard-- some call him a charlatan. I call him a genius with the fastest hands and best trainers ever. 09. Jack Dempsey 08. Larry Holmes-- the most underrated heavyweight champion ever. The Holmes jab is legendary. His title fights were boring compared to Ali, but Holmes made up for it with fighting any and everyone. Sort of like what Vital Klitschko is doing now! 07. Jack Johnson 06. Sugar Ray Robinson 05. Roy Jones Jr.-- he's a legend. The best middleweight we will ever see reach their prime. RJJ was magnificent. Unbeatable at his weight by virtually anyone else who has ever worked Jr. Middle to Super Middle in his prime. 04. Rocky Marciano-- the record speaks for itself. 03. Muhamad Ali-- with #'s 1 and 2, we would have an argument on which is weighted more. But they all can be interchangeable! 02. Julio Cesar Chavez-- Amazing career. Simply amazing! 01. Joe Louis
Probably one of the worst lists i have ever seen I hate to be critical. But having RJJ above Duran and SRR is criminal Unless this is a troll thread... I hope...
Tyson infront of lewis and joe louis fought cab drivers and garbage men and is the most overAted fighter of all times.
How can you say I would have had hagler 7 places higher when it was such a close fight that could have gone his way. I think your list is **** but its difficult to make tobe honest and will always get hatred so probz for trying.
Tis why I said it's my list and feck all else. You can hate it, but it is what I think and feel it is. It's no troll thread. It's genuine. Someone said Louis fought garbage men and cab drivers, and then someone said that Holyfield is 4 time champ and Pac-Man is an 8 time champ and should be ranked higher... you see what I mean? On the one side of the haters to my list say that fighting garbage men and truck drivers don't count, but on the other end they say that winning championships against chumps is worth something? Who has Holyfield beaten, aside from Tyson, who can be considered anywhere close on this list? Old ass Foreman who can't fight? Larry Holmes in 12 when Tyson raped his face with his fists several years earlier? 1-2 vs. Bowe? Moorer? LOL.... c'mon! The one great fight that Pac-Man had was vs. Barerra when MAB was "sorta" in his prime. But MAB was overrated to the core... sh1t fighter with not much but padding to the record. Tis not make an all time great. And the guy who gave him the toughest fight outside of Morales, that being Marquez where he is 1-0-1, Mayweather beat him to a crisp! And Marquez isn't even that "good". He's alright, but not fantastic. He has Morales and Cotto- who was hyped in any event, so I can really only give him a fading Morales! :good
You suck! Willard isn't in the top 500 all time! I feel bad about saying the above, sorry. The list really is just deplorable.
