Nice list Personally I'd have Ali at one. Seeing as he'd probably beat Joe Louis over 15 and his resume is more impressive. Liston should be higher imo and I'd probably drop Wills and add Norton or J. Corbett. Just my opinion though. Great list
After seeing how Conn outboxed him, who is a poor man's Gene Tunney, I reckon Ali would have done the same. As for resume. I don't see anyone on Louis' record who can touch Foreman, Frazier, Liston e.c.t.
I like them both, I believe I have one of them or both of them right around 22-26th spots all time. Corbett had balls, took on all the best of his era, even when past his prime. In his prime, he may have been the best of the bunch. Jackson was a stud, no one wanted to fight that guy. I think he was a h2h beast for that era.
I used to throw both of them in at mid 20's....My understanding of them is limited, and I feel beter not ranking them, than I do giving them a token 25-26.
I truly believe that if George Foreman and Joe Frazier had come along and challenged for the title when Joe Louis was champion, there's a big chance that they wouldn't be remembered all-time greats today.
