Skills are important to me. Jones' are incredible. As my first post suggests, I think there is a case for switching them though. And the reasons you outline here would be the reasons why.

Let's not forget what Charles acheived at Heavyweight (and what Charles couldn't. I do consider what happens to the divisions greats outside of the division in question - it helps to round of the appraisal of the fighter...you are right, of course, that Moore dominated the division for a longer period of time. But Charles was also a great LHW champ - meanwhile he proved in dominating a series with Moore tha he was the better man.

I agree with you surmise of Tiger, and at MW, I rate and love him. He was a great man as you said. But the version of this fighter that appeared at LHW would not beat Chad Dawson, IMO.

Well the placement of Charles would hardly be devoid of criticism. I'd say it's the first thing most would jump on. You have him lower or similar at 175 alone as most have him ATG P4P.

I have a lot of time respect for Charles, I have him at #14 all-time, he was a brilliant fighter. But he choose to make a living fighting Heavyweights when he became too good for 175lbers and was avoided.

Because of the sheer amount of fighters across soooooo many divisions that compete for the spots. Charles didn't do thatmuch at Heavyweight as to take him from a 9 175 rank to a 14 ATG IMO. I'd say 80 or 90% of his achievement was at 175, look at what he did there. He beat your number 1, 3 times for a start. At heavyweight he beat the worst version of Louis there ever was. Granted he did plenty still at Heavy, but his real star burnt at 175. Having him 9 is ridiculous to be honest.
