1.) Juan Manuel Lopez - he's the next big star (or little star) in boxing. he's going to be an all time great This content is protected .. This content is protected 3.) Chad Dawson - Considering how bad the light heavyweight division is, he's going to be undefeated for a while. I'd favor him over Pavlik and Abraham at light heavyweight also. 4.) Jorge Linares - I saw him once on the HBO PPV with Hopkins/Winky and he looked amazing. After checking online, he's already won 2 world titles and he's only 23... A future star in the making. 5.) Paul Williams - He's only in his 20's and in 5 years, he's going to be running the 154/160 divisions. Honorable mention: David Haye because once he knocks out Waldo and Vitali, people are going to give him his credit. He's going from cruiserweight to the big boys and he's going to flourish. Comments? :bbb
All them are hyped by media more then they have deserved. I'm not sure Ortiz can deal with Maidana and you are talking about Manny...
Linares won two meaningless titles one against a shot fighter the other against a complete bum that was koed by valero in the first round. the guy is very overrated its easy to look good when you only face bums. hes going to fight yet another bum today.
Dawson will not feature the moment he steps up against a live counter puncher. If he fights Hopkins, his day is over. Ortiz, Juanma, Linares - all fight with styles that mean they'll be beaten throughout their career while continuing to be fan favorites. My pick for Top 5 1. Floyd Mayweather Jr - he'll fight once a year until 35-36, mark my words 2. Gamboa - If he continues to improve and stay at the weight he's at, he's going to be tough for anyone to beat 3. Lara - Amateur experience alone dwarfs the achievements of any and his style converts well to P4P 4. Paul Williams - Weight Cheat is hard to beat 5. Amir Khan - my dark horse pick. His chin and stamina issues aside, the guy has lightning fast hands and feet, he's learning with Roach which could see him transform into a great, remember, Pacquaio had early knockouts too.
when did khan have a stamina issue i have never seen him struggle in the stamina department and apparently people in his camp say he gives manny a run for his money in the fitness department. I think his chin may improve with the extra 5 pounds but we shall see. he is very talented no doubt
No boxer south of 160 wants him, because he's not a 147lb fighter. I have no clue how that guy compresses down to 147.
