Also I'm a little saddened not to see Rahman in there, he's not the most technically gifted fighter but he has size, has a right hand like a muel kick, and is tricky and clever enough to be a banana peel sort of fight against any heavyweight - He has a pretty good resume, I think he beat a better version of Lennox Lewis than Buster beat of Tyson, and either bet or fared pretty well against all the best heavyweights of his era - Tua (was unlucky in the first fight, robbed in the 2nd, Lewis, Toney (robbed again), etc.,) Anyway he'd be top40 for me.
Wow I love how everyones getting worked up over one "kid's" opinion. It brings a smile to my face, brightens my day, makes me feel like a special person. Thanx guys.
You wanna know why tyson over holyfield? Tyson put together an oustanding title reign...very busy, dominated his opposition, ducked no one..... Holy had a crap title reign. Struggled against 42 year old george foreman, made to look foolish at times vs 44 year old larry holmes, dropped and nearly kayoed by 2nd sub journeyman bert cooper. And that was it..........very inconsistent, lacks top quality, lacks the spice tyson had to his title reign. His 2nd title reign he lost in his first to defense to out of all people..........Michael Moorer!
Worked up? Meh, not really. I just think the lists wrong here and there. This entire board is based on criticism and opinions.
You couldn't come up with a top 50 list if you tried. Do you even know who elmer ray is? No No not elmer Fudd.......elmer ray, he was a heavyweight in the 1940s. Don't worry in time you will learn more about the old timers.
Coming from a guy who ranks vitali in his top 15, brewster and corrie sanders in his top 50? Ill stop there
Michael Moorer was not a very good heavyweight. He barely got past the likes of botha and Shulz. He lost his title to a 45 year old Man.
Ya and Holy lost his title to him. Like I said, Tysons title reign was far more impressive than holy's. I like Tyson h2h vs the rest of the field bettert than holy, and I like tyson over holy h2h.
Tony Tucker is a big threat to anyone h2h throughout history. He gave a peak tyson his hardest fight, this was tuckers only loss in his prime. Tucker defeated an in shape motivated buster douglas who looked sharp that night. Tucker never suffered a knockout loss to a 38 year old fat golfer in his prime, or a stoppage loss to ross purrity.
