Very fair post my friend I would argue with with to much conviction. When its that close its very subjective. Have you read the biograghy of Langford by Clay Moyle? A very good book that I found to shed a lot of light on the man and his career. Im reading Grebs biography now but its a bit slow.By the time I get done though I may very well have him ranked ahead of Sam. He was an amazing fighter.
It's a reasonable list, but the same old names everyone else has around here. It's really hard to know enough about boxing history to actually make a proper p4p list though, so I commend anyone who attempts it. Some of the greats I never see on the lists. Abe Atell and Young Griffo could be on the list. Bob Fitzsimmons surely.
IMO neither Joe Louis nor Ali have any place on a p4p list. Shoot me, I'd rather have Charley Burley, and certainly Mickey Walker. And I agree with everyone that Greb is too low. He's my number one and I don't think it's even a debate. Good list though.
Thanks, I'll be sure to remember to avoid DT, who is a bit of a troll on Yahoo Answers. And I will study Greb's resume thoroughly and give a bit of a revision on my top ten p4p. Langford, too, as well as Charles. I really need to study up. Thanks again! :good You all (with the exception of DT) are great contributors and I value your input!
I have no room for either Louis or Ali in my top 10 p4p either. Both were great, but there are others with better resumes and accomplishments in my opinion.
It´s a good list. The omission of Fitz, Walker and Charles are bad but then there are like 30 fighters with a case for Top10 and you list looks fine to me. :good
