I'm not gonna gloat. No need. All I'm gonna say is that I feel vindicated for defending this man for so long. It was a tremendous fight. Real fans who skipped this PPV missed a night that will go down in history, unlike the jive we were fed by other "P4P" names. Cotto found out tonight what Cintron already knows, and I do believe Cintron is owed an apology now. Margarito proved once again he is the sickest monster in the sport. Just an amazing brawler. He will go down in history right next to JCC if he keeps up efforts like he did tonight. **** all the haters and their junior education in boxing. Past losses don't mean ****! All I want to see right now is Williams get payback. That's really the fight to be made at welter now. Let Shane retire, let Cotto pick up the pieces, and lets get these two massive welters back in the ring for the long awaited rematch. Great night of boxing. And I'm sure alot of you are humbled right now. Just remember what I said. Skill ain't everything!
Am_def im curious, you were the one who used to have that Margarito punching the simpsons comic book guy in the stomach avy right?
Humble post. I expected something more brutal, along the likes of "**** Y0UZ WH0 PICKED C0TT0! L0LZZZZZZZZZZZZ!DDFH!"
I still have it! My anti Radar av. If you want it lemme know. It's around here someplace. It actually might be a good idea to use that atm.
Fair enough, I had Cotto to do it on points. Do you think there will be an immediate rematch? And would Cotto be wise to go for it straightaway? I guess it depends how much belief it took away from Miguel p.s. Did you not pick Gomez over Cotto?
Congrats, man, but you shouldn't be on here... go celebrate! The guy is a beast, and even though it may not be the biggest money fight, I'd much rather see a rematch with Williams right now than De La Hoya.
Not right away. Frankly I'd be surprised. This fight took alot out of Cotto. Psychologically. He ran into a bigger monster than himself. He looked like 20 guys beat him up at the end of the fight. I don't know. With the way he lost I can say safely it'll be some time before a rematch happens. This was no walk in the park, even in defeat.
Congratulations, to all Margarito fans. May I say that you guys are lucky that Cotto is about as durable as a dixie cup, LOL. I'm sure there were some very tense moments for the Margarito faithful. You chose the right guy to pick against. Somebody else could have done the job, but Margarito was the truly committed one and he took down the prize. As you could see, it didn't take even a fraction of Tony's normal amount of contact to get him out of there. BTW, Ziggy Montana is banned for life. :good
Be careful what you wish for. Paul has height and reach advantages that Cotto does not enjoy . I still feel Paul has the skills and just enough pop to beat Margarito 9 times out of 10. Just my opinion
Congrats on your man winning. Thats twice this summer that I feel heartbreak. Both the Lakers and Cotto losing. Hopefully both can make a great comeback. Margarito deserves all the accolades. He performed and was the better man.
No tense moments here San. Cotto actually ate some hard shots early on and Margo had alot of success with the body shots. It was really only a matter of time. Cotto is psychologically a very hard man but nobody can take that kind of abuse for long.
I'm not gonna lie im pretty new to boxing and didn't have a great knowledge of Margarito's history, i suppose i bought into the mainstream opinions that Cotto would do enough to get the UD. But WOW, what a performance, that man has balls of steel and heart to much. I was watching with a mate who doesn't really follow boxing, and he was genuinely impressed by the warrior performance Margo put in. If Margo can avenge his loss to PW, I don't think anyone could not have huge respect for the guy.
This says alot about Tony's punching power as well. That he landed so few clean shots and still busted Cotto up like that says alot. He might not land clean or land much, but what does land hurts.
