    Ambition Def:

Simple words: You know your **** about boxing!

I've been following your posts concerning this fight and I always felt the same way you did.

You were spot on! Great stuff. I might take you up on that other avatar you have.

    Margarito fans: let's all celebrate!!:happy

And of course, big props to Cotto himself. He fought bravely and intelligently...no doubt. Margarito just wanted it more.

Everything was going to plan until the 7th when Marg broke Cotto's mental capacity to win the fight.

Well done AD and anyone else who saw that at times technical deficiency's in boxing is not as important as heart, courage, perseverance and mental strength. Iron clad chins don't hurt either.

I've been proven wrong in a big way here but still somewhat satisfied to see such characteristics displayed by Marg making all the difference. Major hats off!!

Very true, Margarito didn't land too many button shots, but even his grazing and glancing blows were enough to incur a tremendous amount of damage. I'm fully convinced that Margarito's punching power is superior to both Judah and Mosley at 147 pounds. The proof is in the pudding. Cotto was absolutely battered, and again, he wasn't caught flush very much at all. Margarito is an absolute force.

Margaritos power is underrated and overshadowed sometimes by the lack of polish. He not only has power, but he has a good variety of punches and punches his opponents everywhere from all angles... in the end, that punishment catches up. It may not look pretty, but the **** he throws is gritty, and it will hurt you. As you said, Cintron knows this, as he learned his lesson two times, and now Cotto. As a spectator or fan, its easy to sit back and say "this guy is slow and he doesn't even hit that hard"; this fight puts into prospective as to why Margarito really was avoid and is arguably the most feared man in boxing. I agree, a Williams rematch has to happen. Im quiet confident Margarito will defeat Williams in a rematch. All he has to do is repeat what he did in their first fight during the second half.

    Glad to see this thread.

I've seen you since the MAyweather ducking Margarito issue, and how you defended him through thick and thin, but also how you criticized him when it seems he was not going to face Williams for his mandatory fight.

    Props man.

if margo keeps his focus i think he can stay the man for a while williams got lucky margo wasnt on his game, since he has come out strong in the start of his fights this guys on go, i really liked both guys tonight but it seemed like margo really wanted it, margo also played it smart by being cautious first couple of rounds wearing cotto down a little then started his attack brilliant !

    WAR MARGO!!!!! :happy

What an animal - I thought he was going to lose a lopsided points decision based on rds 1-5, but he started slowing Cotto down with his bodyshots, and broke him mentally in the 7th.

Cotto must have been thinking he was fighting a robot, Margo never changed his speed, he just kept going in and working away, and wore him down.

    Great fight :good

I was in the pleasant position of liking both fighters, so I am not heartbroken at the outcome, but I was very happy to see Margo win because of all the **** that's been flung at him on this forum.

Sure, he might only one game plan, and he may not be fast and pretty to watch, but he has a hell of a chin and bombs in both hands, and he uses those qualities to their full potential.

One of the best fights I've seen in a while.

Comrade, it was like one of those nightmares you have. Where you are slugging the dog**** out of some strange dude and all he does is laugh at you.

Cotto actually went through that for real. He's probably gonna be having nightmares of Margarito with his face painted white in a blue jumper. Seriously.

Brother-in-arms, I loved it, it was almost a fight of 2 halves - rds 1-5 seemed to be all Cotto, but Margo was taking everything he threw at him and just kept coming and took over from the 7th.

That mother****er doesn't know how to take a backwards step!!!

    Congrats man :good

Aye. It was an excellent night. After so many posts defending this guy. :rofl Can you believe it? Going all the way back to those wars against our great nemesis. According to San Rafael he is perma banned now. At least on his new alias.

I do expect him to return someday though. All great evils do.
