My understanding or lack of understanding re Fury vs Joshua

This is only my take from interviews and not likely to be accurate
Please don't make this a thread about one being scared of the other or personal opinions. Just anything that you think may be correct.
    ‐------------------
    To my understanding and beliefs...

Both signed to fight the other

In Joshua's contract it said that the fight is to be in the UK. Is that correct?

Since then potentially someone acting on behalf of Fury maybe is wanting to move the location and change the signed contract? Is that correct?

If the location is suddenly changed to abroad Joshua would lose money in taxation? Is that correct?

I had written a while back before they had their tune ups
    Below
    --------------------------

I am not convinced that Fury/Joshua
    happens this year

Fury I think has had a few times where he has postponed etc. Often before his bigger fights when he is the A side
(I don't feel either is above the other here at this point)
Klitschko 2 fight was delayed I think on a few occasions and then Fury decided he wasn't fighting
The immediate Wilder rematch didn't happen and Fury fought a couple of tune ups
Wilder 3, I think there were some delays but could be wrong
Usyk, he needed a tune up and fought Chisora, then decided against Usyk and fought Ngannou, then the date was changed, then there was another delay as I recall

So not convinced it will happen this year

I think alot could also depend on how Joshua looks ie the time i felt Fury was serious in offering Joshua the fight was when Joshua was coming straight off his 2nd defeat to Usyk, and I seem to recall Fury saying something along the lines of you should be fighting fit and ok after that sparring session with Usyk (which was a tough fight) and giving a short deadline to sign for the fight.

If Joshua doesn't look good, gets wobbled and struggles through a decision, I think then that there may be more chance the fight happens this year (still not convinced), but feel that if Joshua looks powerful and destructive that it may be delayed a bit more.
    That is only a thought

Personally I would favour Fury and am a far bigger supporter of Fury than Joshua.
Never been a fan of Joshua but do like to remain balanced and often don't get alot of the criticism as I feel he has been great for British boxing and looked to be involved in alot of big fights

I would pick Fury, I would favour Fury but I am not entirely convinced this fight happens this year and providing neither lose the warm up, would think that if it doesn't happen this year would more likely be due to Fury, not that I think anyone would blame him (or Joshua) if he got a better offer ie like world title chance

Kabayel is now WBC champion, but I don't think that would happen this year with Fury
That is all just a feeling and not a fact

    ------------------

I do now have a bit of a feeling that Fury will look to face Hrgovic.
Fury had mentioned something about boxing as a young man's game and I think will look to face Hrgovic, a fight that I feel he would win quite comfortably
He would then not be looked to be matched with other young fighters and beat the man who beat the young next generation HW

I have a feeling Fury/Hrgovic will be announced
Only a thought and not worth anything

Please correct me with the questions above

Well Fury is fighting in November regardless so he needs a man who can go into camp now. Hurgo would be game I have no doubts. Agit probably would be. Usyk would be but not November, he needs a roid cycle. Looks like AJ will duck sadly.

This is Fury's final contracted bout under Turki, he won't take a light touch, he wants something real....

    This fight isn't interesting anymore.

I want to see Dubois vs Kabayel.

Why do you feel they are ducking?
This is what I am asking

I may have this all wrong which is why I was asking
If there is a signed contract and someone alters it where it would effect you, you would likely find someone wouldn't go through with it.
    For example

If you took a job. Signed a contract to work in the UK, but suddenly told you can have the job, but it will be abroad and you won't get paid as much due to the taxation, you aren't likely to do something different to what was agreed if it effects your earnings
Is that not what has happened?

    Would be interesting
Dubois seems to take on tough opposition on a regular basis.
I wonder with all the tough fights will someone catch him when they have stayed fresh and not fought at such a high level.
Dubois next fight with Wardley is another top 10 opponent

My understanding from having consumed a lot of material on this is: both Fury and Joshua both signed separate but similar contracts shortly after Fury beat Makhmudov earlier this year, stipulating they’d both have one more tune up fight (Wach and Prenga) before facing each other in the UK - this was supposedly in both their contracts.

Sometime between then and now, some or all of Netflix/SELA/Turki wanted to move the fight from the UK to New York to maximise money and global audience, and both Fury and Joshua would be compensated with more money as a result. Fury had no issue with this so he signed his updated contract. Hearn and Joshua supposedly have an issue with this and are trying to negotiate additional stipulations for the fight to take place in New York (ie even more money). Hearn and Joshua still haven’t signed their updated contract so we’re at the current standoff.

Regardless of anyone’s belief as to where the fight should take place (imo, the UK is the most obvious location for obvious reasons), the facts very clearly seem to be that Fury’s side has signed and are willing to fight, but Joshua’s side still has not, and thus the fight is not official yet solely because of Eddie Hearn and/or Anthony Joshua.

I didn't think from the videos that Joshua had been compensated for the proposed changes?

This is a well written assessment of what's going on.

Joshua/Hearn are in no hurry to sign an updated contract because "AJ" is a global brand and they get money for Joshua simply existing. Fury has far less branding ability and needs to fight in huge fights. Fury had a good camp and good fight against Mak, Joshua almost got KO'd by a complete unknown, getting KD'd twice.

The hunger to push the fight forward is CLEARLY Fury. Joshua/Hearn making a fuss about a few percentage points is comical. The idea they give a **** about UK fans when they constantly hold mega fights in Saudi is similarly ridiculous.

If the contract has to be updated, that does indicate it has been changed
If the stumbling block is fighting in the UK and Fury wants the fight that bad would he not be as much to blame if he doesn't just have the fight in the UK?
It was Fury that I understand gave short deadlines previously and to my understanding and had previously I recall thinking, implied previously about doing the fight for free for the fans I think. Could be wrong?

It's been indicated that AJ loses close to 40 million for tax reasons if it goes ahead in America

I doubt that figure is true but I can bet it's definitely alot he is losing out on and plus the additional media he is being asked to do
    Everything costs

Not one of us would just say sure why not if we were in his position

And before anyone says Fury would lose the same, no he wouldn't as him and AJ are both tax exiles in different locations

Really instead of blaming any fighter, you have to blame the people doing the deals

How on Earth did Fury get to sign for the fight in Ireland and AJ in UK?

Turki and Sela need to go away now
