My view on Mikey vs Loma has changed.

The thing is if you're a smaller shorter guy like Loma is and you move up you basically have to go right at them.

A guy like Pac and Duran show that. They're not going to be sitting on the outside picking off much taller, longer, bigger men. You have to take the fight to them and the pain that comes with that.

A guy like Pedraza was fighting tall, long, patient, non committal, feints, etc. The proper tactic for a naturally smaller man against an opponent like that is to walk him down and tear his ass up. Pac and Duran would have just mauled Pedraza.

 

lomas style relies on attacking guys with similar or less power, because his game is in the pocket and he does get hit. he needs an accumulation of punches to hurt guys this size, whereas some fighters can hurt you anytime they catch you, lomas style gets much more dangerous for him against those guys. maybe he has a whole other set of skills to deal with a guy in the pocket who can ko him with a well placed counter, i just havent seen that yet. loma needs to be close to you to do what he does, guys like mikey feed on guys who need to get close to them.

 

You can have a break if you want. The picking and choosing from some of you is hilarious. The distance traveled to make excuses when the man said he was fine is also hilarious.

Isn't it funny that when Loma decisively beat's a guy at LW to unify titles with a beautiful display of skill (admittedly he could have been a bit busier earlier on in the fight) ellerbe tries to discredit it (he'll say this isn't what he's doing but we all know he is..) yet we see no 'I overrated Wilder thread' made by him following the GIFT draw Wilder just got against Fury! Not true, it depends on the injury and the procedure. People have gotten a joint cleaned out and felt good as new a few weeks after. I believe Loma.
