Jon Jones said he going to ask the UFC for 5 months of which means we wont see him until possibly May/June time. Have a feeling it will be- May J. Jones vs D. Henderson UFC Light-Heavy Aug J. Jones vs R. Evans/P. Davis UFC Light-Heavy Nov - M. Lawal/ G. Moussai UFC Light-heavy Jones bar injuries etc, will most likely stay in the light-heavyweight division for a good 3 yrs.
Have you heard anything suggesting this, or is this a pure hunch? I was under the impression the winner of Rashad and Davis was getting the next shot.
jones vs dan henderson jones vs rashad evans jones vs phil davis jones vs machida 2 jones vs JDS (BEST FIGHT EVER)
It does sound like i'm taking the **** but i really would love to see Bonnar Vs Jones II. I think in the first fight Bonnar looked past Jones as some young kid he would roll over and now i see the change in Jones' eyes. He is starting to believe he is unbeatable and a tough warrior like Bonnar would be a good fight IMO. Laugh if you want but this is a much better fight than Jackson... Lynchburg
Why should we assume he can fight at HW? Has he ever announced that he's at least interested fighting in that class? If so, fine. Would love to see it someday. But I think it's audacious for fans to push a fighter into a different weight class just because he seemingly ran out of heavy competition in his ideal division. My guess is Bones will finish his career similar to Anderson Silva at MW. Bones might occasionally fight and beat a few HWs but he'll build his home at 205. Just a guess though.
The most interesting thing for me owuld be the size of Bonnar. The guy is a heavyweight and somehow makes 205. From a size perspective, Jones advantage is negated.
This, but replace Phil Davis with Gustaffson and **** Machida 2 off entirely. Unless Machida does something to look super impressive next year he's not sniffing a title shot again until Jones is gone.
Pure hunch. I just think the UFC is going to want a big main event for that show and with GSP, Silva, JDS all out and Frankie, Aldo and Cruz scheduled for other events they're going to ask for another favour. And Jones already said he'd be willing to come back earlier if the UFC needed him.
It'd be an exciting fight at the very least. Bonnar poses almost no threat to Jones, but it'd be interesting to see what a prepared Bonnar would look like in a five round fight.
He is massive... crazy big these days. He must be eating some serious red meat! His Muay Thai looks better than ever and so does his ground game. I gave him a round against Jones in the first fight and I would guess he was not motivated at all for that fight. Against the cage and in the clinch Bonnar is dangerous against anyone... what he can't do against Jones is stay at range. he would have to close the gap fast and get on the inside. I doubt he can beat Jones but you never know :deal I just want to see it happen... I'd rather this fight than Rampage, Evans, Davis, Machida or Rua. I would like to see Hendo first. Lynchburg
He's on a good run, he's a company favourite and he's a tough s.o.b. Plus everything is arranged, he wouldn't have expected a chance to wear the belt and would certainly get up for this fight. Plus you'd think he'd be less intimidated by Jones than most other guys, because he's already heard the final bell against him and finished the fight stronger as well. If nothing else, he would probably force Jones to fight more than Rampage, Machida or Shogun managed. And if Jones laid waste to him like it was nothing, I would count that as yet another extremely impressive victory. One more victory for Bonnar and I reckon he's an entirely legitimate challenger. :hat
This is the most barking mad idea I've seen on here for quite some time. Jones demolishes Rua, Machida and Jackson. Bonnar loses to the fossilized remains of Mark Coleman, has two wars with K Soszynski, and decisions Pokrajac and Kyle Kingsbury. And you want them to fight again? Bonkers! :nut Why not have a title fight between Junior dos Santos and Mark Hunt while we're at it?! Does NEVER EVER beating ONE top 10-ranked fighter not preclude Bonnar (or ANY fighter) from a UFC title shot in your crazy, mixed-up world?!!
I was thinking HUnt is nearly ready too... maybe one or two more and he'll get his shot. As for Bonnar... I think he was on a slide and demotivated. Give the guy a chance :good Also Brian Ebersole is top ten material :deal Lynchburg
