Tyson's handspeed combined with devastating power would spell doom for the always game Lyle. Lyle got continually clipped by Quarry and Tyson hits twice as hard. So the result is no surprise here.

    Tyson KO 4

  6. lyle by brutal ko, no debate

  7. tyson was more slow and predictable in 1996-97, and holyfield did hurt him, lyle was stronger than holyfield and by far harder puncher. tyson had no stamina post prison, lyle had better chin( he took shots from shavers and foreman), and lyle had more heart hands down, lyle was a warrior, tyson fought for money at this time. quarry was faster than this version of tyson, and tyson had other style different. quarry was other fighter.

Some people think that if they spin a fiction long enough and repeat it often enough it becomes fact.

Well, we all live in a world compromised by delusion.

Nobody beats Tyson by standing right in front of him trying to outslug him, sorry. Holyfield, Douglas and Lewis used the matador style to frustrate him, tire him out and then take him out. Lyle does not fight like this at all. Tyson enjoys nothing more than having someone stand in front of him so he wing away.

Id say Tyson wipes the floor with Lyle and looks better doing it than Foreman did. Remember Tyson isnt just gonna stand there and let Lyle tee off. Tyson has the better defence, whcih would help in a fight like this, on top of that he has a very good chin. However his stamina at this point would be questionable....then again he did go 10-11 rounds with Holyfield.

Lyles only chance is if Tyson tires in the later rounds.....however with the style of fighter Lyle is....i dont see him being around that long.

I really think Liston, Foreman, (and against this verison of tyson) lyle would outlsug him.

No way. Tyson was too faded to beat someone like Lyle. Especially since Lyle was competetive against better fighters then Tyson. Tyson's defense was pretty gone by the time he fought holyfield. As was his speed.

    Lyle hits harder.

  11. yes if you don´t talk it would be different.

  12. what?:lol: foreman and liston would do it against a PRIME TYSON any day of the week. and lyle could punch and he could fight. he would tire tyson. and he would finish him. i am not saying that it would be easy, noway, but this version of tyson fought just for money, lyle at this time was a warrior.

I actually think the Lyle-Shavers fight would be a better example to use in support of Lyle's chances, because if Lyle fought like he did against Foreman against a '96 Tyson, he'd probably get beaten in 1 or 2 rounds.

The first round of Lyle-Foreman is tame, Foreman looks very hesitant, and Lyle just skirts around, nothing much happens until the end when Lyle finally tags Foreman's wide-open target of a head. Foreman was begging to be hit like that, head held up in the air.

The first round of Holyfield-Tyson is relatively fierce, with Tyson looking fast and strong and dangerous. Problem was, Holyfield was better.

I'm not sure Lyle is in that league, but I'd have to watch him against Shavers in its entirety. He survived a BRUTAL knockdown against Shavers and came back to win, but he crumbled against Ali.
I suppose he has a chance to outlast Tyson, but he might just be too easy to get to.

Realistically, Lyle was a good strong journeyman contender, so it's a lot to ask to expect him to emulate Evander Holyfield, who was actually a great fighter.

zing. your wit matches your intellect.

I guess I don't understand the point of your threads. It's just bombast backed up by faulty evidence. You allow zero room for compromise or indecision, and your knowledge is paperthin as your analysis. It's really pointless.

I for one will at least allow the chance that Lyle, an accomplished tho crude heavy, could wear down Tyson with his strength. But his power is vastly overrated. It remains a fact that he never took out top flight heavy who did not have chin/stamina issues. If I were to bet the mortgage, I would happily bet Tyson each and every time, but would do so with the knowledge that in any heavyweight bout, there is always a good chance for an upset.

  15. blablabla, every user did understand the thread, simply you are frustrated, you are trying to look intelligent, talking nonsense but the facts are you did talk so much but you said NOTHING. you are owned like always.

and a last thing , little friend, talks only about the topic (the thread) not nonsense. if not , go to the general forum. the noobs are welcome.
