Myke tyson(who faced holyfield) vs ron lyle(the version who knocked down foreman)

    Agreed its definitely a long shot....Lyle just didn't have the style to beat Tyson. He has the power, he's determined and fearless but that's not enough. He simply won't be elusive enough to get the job done. He looked great against Foreman because he matched up better against Foreman. Bruno looked great against Lewis simply because he matched up better against Lewis but against Tyson it was a non issue.

    When it comes down to it, he lacks the handspeed and elusiveness to keep Tyson out of the fight. Additionally, Tyson has the better chin and has never been hurt early.

    I just don't see what the point is with Combats & ForemanHook.

    We all have different opinions that is the whole point of being on a forum but for them each Tyson related thread feels more like they are pushing an agenda to undermine Tyson and somehow aggrandize Foreman. And even when presented with a sound analysis from those of us that bother to do so, if it's an opposing argument or view point they simply ignore facts or analysis that don't fit within their argument.

    I did a thread some time ago debunking the myth of Tyson ducking Foreman and Lewis.

    First off not true. Tyson was never slow .. in the rematch he was actually coming on strong before he was butted and lost his marbles ...

    The Tyson that destroyed Bruno in their second fight cuts through Lyle pretty much the same way ...

    tyson was slow against lewis,mcbride,buster douglas and danny williams.

    bruno had a glass chin, lyle took shots from earnie shavers and george foreman.and lyle would absolutely destroy frank bruno, no contest

    Liston didn't need to outslug him as he could box too. Tyson never had the footspeed to give him fits like Ali did and didn't fight off the backfoot I don' think. Tyson himself said that the only man he would fear is Liston but I don't think that "fear" would affect him much in the ring. IMO Liston chews up the Tyson that faced Holyfield(the Liston interested in the sport).

    Tyson looked fierce in both 1st rounds in their two fights. It would be interesting to think how Lyle would deal with that. Lyle was no Holyfield but they both were warriors.

    and a last thing, ironchamp you were the only decent tysonfan, i have some respect for you because you said some interesting points in the past. you did talk with arguments about boxing, not with nonsense like this poor guy seamus ,canibus81 and others fanboys... . you should continue with the correct way. if you think that i hate tyson, ok, fine. you have your opportunity to show that i am wrong, but with arguments about boxing

    :goodSure Tyson has a shot at the Liston of the two Ali fights and especially the Leotis Martin fight so that's why I said the Liston interested in the sport.
