Anyone out there who knows anything about Myler Keogh of Dublin, Irish champion before he lost to Jem Roche in 1902?

(He is not to be mixed up with J. M'Keogh who fought against soldier Garry in 1904.)

Myler was more a middleweight if I recall correctly and an average one at that. I think he fought James Maher, Peter's brother, cant remember the result maybe a draw?

That's right, but the Joyce people keep quoting an article in the Freeman's Journal of !904 that refers to James M'Keogh, but not Myler Keogh. It seems Myler never really recovered from that fight against Roche. He had one more fight in 1903, but that was probably the last. Seems they didn't bother much about correct weight in those days because Roche was obviously a heavy weight.
