Most fight fans know that.....it was people like Cosell and "Lamprey" that started / kept the "myth" going.

Joe Louis has some old fight reports attributed to his upper cut punching power that may need to be reanalyzed due to better quality films available today.

So it is not a myth then! The punch lifted Frazier off the ground!

You'd break a guy his spine if you could uppercut him so hard that he gets lifted of the ground.

Imagine if Lewis hit Vitali with an uppercut that could lift 245 pounds off the ground.
Vitali his head would have just touched his back and he would have been dead in an instant

Exactly; the myth is that it is a myth that Frazier was lifted of his feet by a Foreman punch. The myth is that Frazier was not lifted off his feet.

Colonel Sanders has claimed a myth to a situation without a myth, that has now caused a myth. But not the myth that was not a myth, but a myth that has been created over 40 years later.

All of which has left me myth-ed!

Vitali lifted Danny Williams off his feet with a cuffing shot so it is possible.

In the case of Foreman Frazier, no, Foreman never lifted Frazier off his feet from the force of his punch, if everyone is talking about that little delayed reaction jump hop that Frazier did towards the end of the fight. For years I thought they couldn't possibly be talking about that. But no, sure enough, that was exactly what they were talking about.

I swear, some boxing fans really don't have a brain in their heads. It's why ridiculous nonsense like this continues to be perpetuated.

That is a myth. Foreman due to the power of the punch lifted Frazier off his feet. It is there in the video of the thread starter!

Vitali his punch certainly didn't do the lifting, that were Williams his own legs doing the jump and losing balance.

Legs do some weird **** when you get clipped hard enough.

    See Kostya-Judah for example.

I am lead to believe George punched quite hard, so I don't see why it couldn't be the same reaction Zab had when he was getting back up from the punch.

Yeah you're right, but the fact that the punch made him jump like that emphasizes Foreman's power.
