 Yeah because all 300,000,000 Americans are actively pursuing a boxing career.

    ***.

Puerto Rico has more champions then Britain. 5,000,000 vs 60,000,000 How do you account for that? ***.

Look at what happened with Mark Gastineau and Too Tall Jones; those were All-Pro players who got destroyed in the boxing ring.

The truth is, the "next great US heavyweight" isn't in the NFL; those guys have to have very specialized skill sets. No, they probably washed out at the high school or college level and are working construction now.

No other US heavyweight champ would've been pro in any other sport, and if people think so, they're delusional. The only thing that would've kept them from being champion would've been not getting them into the gym in the first place; which is exactly what's happening today.

The single biggest factore has been the prestige attached to being a fighter. People used to respect them more and they got more attention. Big athletes playing other sports is the symptom, not the cause. If it were the cause, our lower weight pipelines would be absolutely stacked. They're not.

Maybe all our great welterweights are just NFL waterboys?

notice how the video is called 'soccer dives'.....now since you seem to be a little ******ed ill explain what a dive is....a dive is to fake being hurt to gain a foul and maybe a booking for the opposing player, its also called simulating play, this is because it isnt real, its acting, a bit like american WWE. Now imagine how many athletes in the MW to LHW are playing football in England who could have been boxing instead.

    Here is an example

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtis_Woodhouse

now imagine if he had dedicated himself to boxing rather than football mainly and boxing on the side, this is just one guy.

He'd have been a club fighting journeymen in England of course. You arent seriously suggesting this guy could have been a top level boxer are you?

These are the type of athletes Americans are referring to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwight_Howard

That guy would likely have a Glass Jaw like the majority of your fighters do. Britain has the highest per capta Glass Jawed fighters in the World. Only Cuba comes close.

You've just contradicted yourself! You've assumed a non american cannot become a boxer but an american from any other sport can.

    /clap /clap /clap.

You've just proved how ignorant you are! :bart
